System-wide responsibility for the effective operation of Patient Financial Services financial measurement and reporting. Additional responsibilities include oversight of charge capture and reconciliation, audit defense reporting, equipment and technology management.Works with PFS leadership to design and implement operational and measurement best practices and systems. Accurately translate revenue cycle corrective actions into medical center financial statement changes.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university with five years of leadership experience in healthcare required.Master's degree in business, finance or healthcare administration preferred.Five years’ experience in process management, process improvement, and data analytics.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:Six Sigma Black Belt, Master Black Belt certification preferred. Project Management Professional preferred. EPIC certifications to include but not limited to Clarity-Cogito, Caboodle, Revenue Data Model, and Access Data Model preferred.


1.Develops methods to effectively communicate information through presentations and reports and provide formal and informal education to leaders and staff on revenue cycle topics.

2.Maintains adequate staffing to meet business objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training team members

3.Investigates and resolves charge discrepancies resulting from various audit entities.

4.Leads projects to improve revenue compliance and efficiencies in the charge capture process and structures.

5.Identifies opportunities for revenue cycle improvement and establish protocols to support positive outcomes.

6.Performs financial analyses to report impact of identified changes in process improvement.

7.Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations, coaching, counseling, and performance management of team members.

8.Develops and maintains strong relationships with leadership and engages key stakeholders to drive revenue improvement processes and systems.

9.Defines and develops new data analytics abilities within team and products for operational and leadership use

10.Manages Team to accomplish departmental objectives, managing the alignment of team members and developmental goals, and ensuring a supportive working environment that motivates team members. 

11.Empowers team members and key stakeholders to design and implement reliable systems to support revenue improvement.

12.Oversees the development of the Patient Financial Services Electronic Data Warehouse and raw data sourcing to support Patient Financial Services.

13.Oversees the development of robust visualizations to drive data awareness and proactive revenue improvement.

14.Partners with Patient Financial Service senior leadership, Operational Leadership, and others to define and develop new data analytics abilities within team and products for operational and leadership use.

15.Mentors Performance Improvement staff within Revenue Improvement department

16.Fosters a culture of Diversity and Inclusion.

17.Understands and applies appropriate process improvement and change management strategies/tools, identifying industry best practices and leading/assisting in the implementation of them.

18.Performs other duties as assigned by management.


  • Working knowledge of revenue cycle.

  • Working knowledge of patient financial systems software packages (EPIC preferred).

  • Mastery of medical terminology.

  • Working knowledge of ICD-9 / ICD-10 and CPT codes.

  • Proficiency at developing appropriate management reports and feedback processes.

  • Knowledge of third-party payer requirements related to patient access and patient liability.

  • Ability to use contemporary MS Windows computer applications.

  • Ability to design and implement appropriate technology supported business processes.

  • Actively participates in professional organizations.

  • Ability to establish appropriate supporting management structure.

  • Ability to establish and execute business vision.

  • Maintains visible presence and engages all levels of staff regularly.

  • Possesses excellent interpersonal relationship abilities and management skills.

  • Complies with all health system personnel policies and state and federal regulations.
