Charles Schwab’s Digital Services division is responsible for leading digital disruption on behalf of investors and advisors.The Digital Services Strategy group is one of the main intake valves for top-tier talent at Schwab and provides members with an unparalleled opportunity to define and work on the business’s major strategic opportunities while gaining visibility among the firm's senior leadership.The goals of the group are to deliver world-class strategy; conduct clear, consistent, fact-based analysis to inform key business decisions; and drive the allocation of scarce resources to the highest-value issues across Schwab.
We are looking for a Director of Digital Strategy to shape the strategic direction of the division and its innovation efforts. The Digital Strategy team manages core strategic functions for Digital Services, including spearheading the Digital Services strategic agenda, the investment planning and leading strategic “deep-dive” projects (e.g., mobile strategy, platform / API strategy, investment products digital strategy, etc.). The team works closely with the Digital Services executive team to align priorities and shape the direction of the division.The team also collaborates closely with partners from the Innovation Accelerator, Investor Services, Advisor Services, Technology, Business Analytics and Finance.

What you’ll do:
Contribute to the Digital Services strategy articulation and the definition of priorities for the group
Lead key strategic projects with Digital Services leadership team; own strategy development from beginning to end, perform in-depth research for (e.g. competitive analysis, industry best practices), develop analyses (e.g. projections, sizing) and engage the appropriate stakeholders
Develop and deliver compelling presentations to share the divisions’ strategic priorities with varied audiences, from executives in partner organizations to division employees
Develop and maintain an understanding of Digital strategic trends in the Financial Services industry
Support the 2019 investment prioritization process, analyzing project funding requests and making recommendations to the leadership team to optimize our impact with our division budget
What you have:
MBA and/or post-grad education required
Minimum 4+ years in strategy experience, preferably in consulting or internal strategy, and a minimum of 6+ years of total work experience
Prior experience in digital and / or financial services preferred
Strategy thinker with strong business judgment and analytical skills, who is able to problem solve as issues arise
A client-centric focus – keeps clients in forefront of decisions, connects plans and actions to our purpose of serving clients
Curiosity and a love of exploring market research, industry trends, innovation trends for product development, technology, finance, etc.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to succinctly synthesize data, develop recommendations, create presentations, and break down complex structures into digestible and relevant points for a diverse set of audiences, at all levels; adept in Excel and PowerPoint
Self-starter with outstanding organizational skills and ability to track multiple priorities (varying in scope and complexity) at the same time
Strong and demonstrated teaming skills, especially in cross-functional teams
Comfort in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment
Ability to drive work independently
