The Director, Diversity & Inclusion Culture and Retention designs, implements and monitors programs to develop, retain and engage a diverse workforce under a comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategy. Reporting to the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, this person will bring deep insights and thought leadership to the role while being a highly strategic operator, an excellent people manager, and have a successful and progressively responsible leadership track record in large organizations.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Lead the execution of Inc. D&I strategic objectives and actions, including but not limited to the following:


Provide thought leadership and best practice methodologies in career and leadership development programs that intentionally advance a diverse workforce


Develop and manage framework for targeted development, career coaching, and mentoring program for women and people of color including cross-cultural/reciprocal mentoring and consultation on sponsorship, exposure and succession planning.


Lead strategy to embed inclusive behaviors in talent processes including performance management, employee development, leadership assessment and selection.


Partner with talent management leads to integrate diversity and inclusion into core high-potential development programs, talent reviews and assessment centers.


Coach key senior leaders to provide ongoing development, facilitate networking and build support and advocacy for diversity and inclusion efforts.


Lead D&I education strategy and coach and develop D&I team member to design and deliver training related to workplace inclusion, unconscious bias and cultural competence.


Serve as Headquarters Diversity & Inclusion lead working closely with senior executives, HR business partners, and other key collaborators to provide D&I resources and tools in support of action plans, key initiatives, goals, and objectives.


Act as deputy to Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer to provide subject matter expertise, consulting and coaching to c-suite to problem solve, design and deliver enterprise-wide solutions related to diversity and inclusion that is integrated with business needs and other strategic HR initiatives.


Typical Education & Experience


Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience


Required Skills and Education


Bachelor's degree in human resource management, business administration or closely related field; ten years of related human resource experience, including creation and implementation of diversity program initiatives; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


10 years experience leading Diversity & Inclusion programs or working on Diversity projects


Experience managing people and project teams within cross-functional or large organizations.


Experience designing mentoring programs and development programs for leaders, high potentials and individual contributors.


Experience implementing and supporting enterprise-wide diversity and inclusion strategy along with strong business acumen to achieve enterprise objectives.


Experience engaging c-suite executives on diversity and inclusion imperatives, executive coaching and the ability to influence in a challenging business environment.

Keeps current on diversity programs and developments by maintaining contact with others in the field (e.g., professional association and educational groups, and professional development efforts).


Ability to demonstrate awareness and understanding of multiple dimensions of diversity: race, ethnicity, gender, generation, sexual orientation, disability, linguistic, professional, and other differences that make us unique.


Experience administering feedback on assessments (e.g. StrengthsFinder, Intercultural Development Inventory, 360, or others) and coaching employees on results.


Leadership Coaching or Career Coaching certification.


Strong interpersonal and communication skills, positive personal and professional vision, high standards of professional behavior and ethics.


Strong organizational and planning skills with solid attention to detail; accurate and thorough; comfortable with numbers.


Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to effectively persuade, influence, and negotiate, as appropriate; clarity, tact, professionalism and consensus building skills - in writing, speaking and presenting information.


Ability to work independently, set priorities, plan workflow and take initiative.


Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and work well under pressure


Experience working successfully within a complex matrix structured organization.


Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills; general computer literacy.
