The position will be responsible for establishing and leading the enterprise profitability framework, with the core objective of enabling visibility into product-centric cost structures and establishing actionable insights into profit optimization. This position will include model design, process implementation and recurring management routines to drive performance visibility across the enterprise and help drive operational efficiencies by identifying areas of improvement. This is a highly influential role that will support and shape strategic decision making via detailed, fact-based analysis of cost consumption and resource utilization.

Essential Functions 

Develop the business logic to establish unit costing and resource utilization using industry best practices to enable cost transparency for Business Lines and Functional Leaders. 

Design and implement the underlying systems (people, process, technology) that map the Product-centric financials to the consolidated financials. Model output should reflect summary and detailed P&L outcomes and all relevant driver/KPI performance.

Educate and align Product Owners and Functional Leaders on prevailing methodology while managing continual optimization into model improvements.

Establish and lead the recurring management reporting routines that ensure the organization has actionable intelligence into the overall product cost structure and performance drivers.

Lead the Product Profitability dimensions of the annual budget and rolling forecast processes in collaboration with cross-functional Subject Matter Experts and Finance counterparts.

Aid in the preparation of operating and financial performance benchmarking and analysis; monitor and analyze operating results against budgets, strategic plans and goals.

Support management in the preparation of business cases to facilitate and measure investment impact on unit cost structure.

Contribute to the preparation of quarterly Management Committee reporting and supporting materials.

Support the company’s commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Qualifications

Education and experience typically obtained through completion of an Undergraduate Degree in Finance, Accounting, Operations Science or Business (advanced degree a plus).

Minimum 10 years’ experience in FP&A, operation science or relevant field of Finance.

Demonstrated financial/operational analysis experience; P&L and Cash Flow with an emphasis on operational analysis of profitability drivers.

Strong emphasis on quantitative business process analysis skills and ability to establish relationships between resources and their drivers (within Technology sector a plus).

Proficiency with business planning techniques and related development of key performance indicators and systems of accountability for a large organization.

Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills that underpin mature influencing and presentation skills.

Demonstrated technological proficiency in harnessing large data-sets across enterprise systems and building scalable system-enabled models/reporting frameworks.

Expert-level financial/business modeling skills in MS Excel.

Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills; able to resolve business problems with well-structured analyses communicated in an effective manner.

Proven comprehension and ability to apply foundational corporate finance techniques to measure financial performance/returns (e.g. DCF, IRR, NPV) and strong command of US GAAP.

Ability to manage multiple competing priorities on a regular basis, without sacrificing the ability to deliver accurate results in a timely manner.

Enterprise leadership capabilities in helping others achieve business objectives.

Demonstrable ability to effectively work with all levels of staff and management both as a self-starter and in a team environment.

Experience with the following enterprise systems a plus: Adaptive Insights, Planview, Apptio, ServiceNow, Tableau, Workday, MS Dynamics.
