Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems - Flight Systems Group is seeking an experienced Sr. Director of Finance to provide leadership to our Launch Vehicles Division in our Chandler, AZ office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Oversee and manage all accounting, financial reporting and compliance activity for program accounting functions (EAC’s, revenue recognition, monthly reporting, etc.) in accordance with GAAP, FAR and CAS.
Provide strategic business leadership for the division for both government and commercial customers.
Lead forward-looking overhead base and rate management process.
Coordinate and oversee all financial aspects for each market segment line of business.
Hands-on leadership in developing and maintaining accurate financial forecasts.
Manage balance sheet in coordination with the sector and corporate shared services and general accounting function(s).
Ensure adherence to internal control processes and certifications to ensure on-going compliance and financial statement integrity as required by Sarbanes Oxley Act and related external reporting standards.
Lead monthly, quarterly and annual operating financial planning and reporting activity for the Division.
Lead program execution, cost control and analysis activities for existing contracts, including program EACs.
Develop and lead operational action plans to reduce working capital balances consistent with commitments in the annual operating financial plan.
Ensure compliance with all statutory and contractual commitments with special focus on business systems rules to ensure adequacy in passing all DCAA/DCMA audits.
Support internal/ external audit activities as needed.
Support business proposal development activity, cost estimating and economic evaluation of investment alternatives, as required.
Oversee staffing, performance management and coaching/development of the Finance & Accounting professional staff of approximately 85 individuals.
BS/BA in Business Management, Finance or Accounting
Combined public accounting / industry work experience of at least 15 years.
At least 5 years previous experience working at a U.S. Government contractor with significant experience in program finance and accounting, overhead/forward pricing rate development, EAC management and a strong understanding long-term contract revenue recognition (SOP 81-1).
Must have well developed people leadership skills and at least 5 years of Supervisory responsibility.
Strong financial leadership and analytical skills and experience presenting financial information to executive leadership.
Demonstrated understanding and background in public-company financial reporting standards and U.S. Government procurement regulations, including FAR and CAS.
Recent experience working for a Fortune 500 Aerospace and Defense company.
Exposure to commercial markets and/or on-site manufacturing experiences a plus.
CPA a plus and MBA is a plus.
