Sodexo is seeking a Director, Health & Safety Programs located in Rahway, NJ. As a core member of the Operations team, you will plan, implement, and monitor the Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) and Sustainability programs and ensure related compliance across our Pharma client’s locations in NORAM (US, Canada). You will have the opportunity to work with global teams and the client to collaborate and set the account EHS and Sustainability strategy in NORAM and implement Sodexo’s company policy. You will lead a team of EHS professionals at our locations to coordinate, as needed, all EHS activities, training, and program implementations. You will also have the opportunity to evaluate and establish best in class EHS and Sustainability practices and systems in all our locations to improve overall EHS and Sustainability performance and work environment. We will help you achieve your goals through collaboration and continuous professional development. The EHS Director will partner with our internal global Sustainability team to ensure that these initiatives are fully integrated across our operations, business practices, and client deliverables.

Our clients depend on your expertise to help them to optimize their business. We are looking for an energetic, knowledgeable, and motivated Environmental Health & Safety professional. You must have at least a bachelor’s degree along with 7 or more years of relevant experience? in Environmental Health and Safety and Sustainability. A top person for this job has already led a team of EHS professionals. With our multiple locations, we are looking for someone that has managed multiple locations and has had experience being client facing. Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with Sustainability and Industrial Hygiene experience is highly preferred.
Lead EHS programs across the account to ensure compliance with Sodexo and the client EHS policies as well as applicable environmental, health and safety regulatory obligations
Champion account initiatives to achieve site and client goals and objectives.
Ensure that EHS programs are assessed for prioritized risks in line with business unit objectives.
Ensure corrective actions are implemented and documented in response to corporate, client and site audits and reviews.
Lead efforts to streamline and strengthen Sustainability Solutions within the account to ensure world-class results by promoting knowledge sharing and project implementation.
Liaise with applicable local/state/federal agencies on issues related to EHS at the sites
Maintain a current knowledge to ensure all locations are compliant with applicable EHS regulatory obligations as they apply to the sites and best practices related to EHS.
Work with senior site leadership (client facing and internal) to ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken on identified health, safety and environmental hazards or potential hazards. Ensure all locations are compliant with regulatory requirements
Interface and manage EHS aspects of staff assigned with EHS responsibilities throughout the account.

The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree in safety management, environmental health, or other related science discipline is preferred
Environmental, Health & Safety experience
Demonstrated business acumen
Exceptional customer service, relationship building and communication skills
CSP Certified Safety Professional
OSHA 10 Hour and OSHA 30 Hour
CIH Certified Industrial Hygienist
CHMM Certified Hazardous Materials Manager
CHMP Certified Hazardous Materials Practitioner

Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 5 years
Basic Functional Experience - 5 years of related experience
