The PPD Director, IT Networking is responsible for providing senior IT direction for our global network operations team across multiple locations. The goal of this position is to ensure the IT requirements are efficiently, effectively met by all involved IT staff.
Provides strategic leadership oversight and day-to-day management for the Network Operations teams to deliver outcomes aligned with business needs, improve performance, reduce risk, cost and complexity.
Hires, develops and manages staff.
Liaises with business functions to ensure IT priorities are in line withbusiness priorities and commitments are being delivered on time and within budget.
Leads IT teams, operational management and cross functional teams to ensure a high standard of service and adherence to internal controls and procedures.
Advises and consults with business functions on IT requests, services and capabilities.
Advises on the potential impact of current and future laws and regulations on the operation of the organization.
Coordinates IT participation in business development, sponsor or regulatory audits ensuring accurate and timely responses.
Manages assigned vendor relationships and contracts to ensure contractual obligations and business requirements are met at the best available price and quality expectation.
Develops and manages departmental expense and capital budgets – ensuring appropriate business approvals are obtained for projects.
Deliver a high-performance global network and related services group
Own and continually enhance strategic and functional goals, service levels and demonstrate service ownership for areas of responsibility
Ensure meaningful network monitoring and metrics related to established SLAs, availability, security, capacity and performance are captured, validated and adhered to through reoccurring reporting
Education and Experience:
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 12+ years) or equivalent and relevant combination of education, training, & experience.
5+ years of management responsibility
Strong leadership skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience in all aspects of global network topologies including software defined WAN, WAN optimization, and monitoring
Experience with a wide variety of networking technologies such as Cisco, F5, Riverbed, Arista, Palo Alto, Talari solutions, and others
Excellent project management skills, preferably in technical setting
Client focused approach with strong interpersonal skills.
Must be able to multi task and pay close attention to detail.
Directs through lower management levels. Has responsibility for managing a function that includes multiple related departments. In some instances may be responsible for a functional area (as determined by executive management) and not have subordinate supervisors or employees. May manage employees across multiple regions
