The Knot Worldwide is seeking a Director of Inside Sales for its US New Business channel who will manage and develop a team of Associate Directors and Account Executives selling into small and medium-sized local businesses within the wedding industry across the country. We are relying on you to develop and improve upon our current processes, creating a best-in-class organization. You must create a winning culture and will be measured on your ability to attract and retain talent, as well as meet and beat monthly forecast and revenue targets. At your core you should value accountability, people development, and bring a performance mindset to your work. 


RESPONSIBILITIES: 



  • Meet or exceed sales goals as defined by the annual plan/budget

    • Manage and implement the sales forecasting, planning and buyer driven sales processes, establishing high levels of quality, accuracy and process consistency for the sales organization

    • Develop strategy, tactics, and sales plans to achieve revenue targets 

    • Set and cascade clear goals and desired outcomes with team

    • Identify and report on business opportunities in target markets and align resources appropriately

    • Extreme orientation to data and performance metrics

    • Monitor market and competitor activity



  • Build a strong, high performing, professional team

    • Maintain sales staff by recruiting, hiring, and training employees, while balancing required performance management expectations

    • Recruit, mentor, and develop sales leadership talent as needed to achieve business objectives

    • Effectively diagnose manager and rep performance gaps, develop and implement targeted coaching plans to improve rep and overall team productivity

    • Develop and maintain a high performing team culture, consistently provide open and honest feedback 

    • Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions with purpose and results

    • Join team members on calls and in meetings as needed/appropriate



  • Collaborate cross-functionally and effectively with various partner organizations including Customer Success, Operations, Training & Enablement, Billing & Collections, Marketing, and Product to implement targeted revenue growth strategy

    • Develop and facilitate continuous improvement of sales techniques and execution by team and in collaboration with the Training & Enablement team

    • Identify inefficiencies in sales process, and work with Revenue Operations team to remedy

    • Collaborate with B2B marketing to improve rep/team productivity

    • Design and deploy updated Sales to Customer Success handoff process in conjunction with the Post-Sales Leadership team



  • Liaise with the Senior Leadership team and complete project work as needed, including presenting at Senior Leadership meetings and/or exec meetings, as needed


SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVE:



  • Bachelor’s degree or relatable work experience

  • 3-5 years sales leadership experience, with proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets and ideally selling to small to medium sized local businesses

  • Experience in leadership training and development

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, presentation and analytical skills

  • Effective consensus-building skills and ability to tailor messaging to resonate with a wide range of audiences

  • Excellent time-management, organization and multi-tasking skills while managing various project to tight deadlines tight deadlines

  • Effectively communicate value propositions through presentations and proposals

  • Experience developing client-focused, differentiated solutions while appropriately and effectively positioning against competitors

  • Strong technical background, preferably with SaaS, online marketplace and/or online advertising/subscription products

  • Confidence making decisions and recommendations, with strong change management skills

  • Open to feedback with ability to “disagree and commit” and execute fully on a project/plan

  • High emotional intelligence, discretion and professionalism

  • Resourceful and innovative in creating solutions with limited resources

  • Proficiency with Salesforce and G-Suite/Office-Suite (spreadsheets, word processing and slide presentations)
