A leader of a field-based, problem solving, customer focused team that supports the efforts of sales and marketing for the US Swine and poultry Business.The Director is primarily responsible for supervision and direction of our Animal Health (AH) division's Swine and Poultry field technical service veterinarians (direct reports and people managers).
The director will work closely with sales leadership, marketing, R&D and global teams to guide the efforts of the Swine and poultry TS team to achieve the goals of the US Livestock Business Unit. The Director will serve on or appoint (at their discretion) members to serve on marketing launch or product support teams, customer teams or special projects as needed. The position will be required to maintain contact with key industry professionals to include academic, veterinary related individuals or groups. Additionally, the position will review technical documents, communications, sales/marketing pieces as part of the regulatory function of this position.
The Director will provide technical communication/training within the company, to customers, advisory boards or industry groups to advance educational efforts, image and reputation of the AH Team. Additionally, this individual may interact with our swine customers at a technical level to ensure the optimal use of our products to meet the customer needs. The Director will be responsible for the Pharmacovigilance efforts of the US Swine and poultry Technical Services team in cooperation with the Livestock PV Services team.
Additional duties will include attending and presenting in prominent industry scientific meetings. The Director of Swine and poultry Technical Services will report to the Executive Director Scientific Marketing Affairs and will be tasked with special projects as business needs and individual skills dictate.
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Hire, train, and supervise field veterinary staff of the Swine and poultry Business Unit.
Deliver a high level of technical expertise, service and support to AH swine sales in the US.Assure those services are provided within corporate objectives and within budget guidelines.
Participate as a scientific speaker on the agenda of key swine and poultry industry meetings where needed.
Assist research and development team with product evaluation, licensing trials and product development for all AH products.
Obtain information regarding customer needs through various channels, networking and customer visits, providing feedback to prioritize research and development needs.
Aid in development of technical and marketing brochures for AH products.
Serve as liaison between prominent researchers in university, government and private settings to supply AH with stream of information regarding innovative products and developments within the research world.
Communicate between various AH departments, as needed, to aid in delivery of product to customers, i.e. International Registration, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Production, etc.

Background & Education:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M) degree or PhD in Animal Science required
Must have minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.Field experience in swineand poultry production and/or swineand poultry medicine.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team environment
Good leadership skills
Candidate should have experience with all types of swineand poultry production systems
Ability to translate technical information and present it in understandable terms to lay people
Must be willing to travel at least 60% of the time
