We are looking for a Director, International Data Governance to strategically manage and administer data across the WarnerMedia International Data Platform, ensuring high levels of data quality, integrity, availability, accuracy, completeness, consistency and privacy.
In this role, you will be responsible for standardising data naming, establishing consistent data definitions, monitoring/auditing the data quality and ensuring our data protection compliance framework, including data retention policies, are executed.
You will focus on business benefits, foster the goal of accelerating data use cases via our data platform, help create and manage and uphold governance agreements and articulate the strategic significance of information to the organisation.
You will be part of our International Data & Analytics family and will build lasting relationships within the team as well as key stakeholders in legal, privacy operations, and business partners. You will have a high level of visibility within the International organisation due to the responsibility of ensuring our data is clean, accurate and compliant.
What you'll be doing:
Maintain, update and enforce data governance policies and procedures for the International Data Platform
Ensure all necessary data create, update, and delete requests within the data platform are completed and accurate
Gate keep data consistency, uniformity and accuracy of all data platform datasets
Continuously improve data governance policies of the International Data Platform to address the changing nature of both organisational requirements and data privacy regulations across the globe
Provide data governance expertise within the Data & Analytics team as well as the larger International Data, Technology, Operations and Innovation organisation
Ensure the International Data Platform meets its responsibilities for data protection and other legislative requirements, including documentation
Manage any compliance to the Information Security Office standards and any internal audits of the International Data Platform or any of its component parts
Resolve any data quality and/or compliance issues with timely and cost-effective solutions
Approve the release of all new data sources into the International Data Platform and any updates made to existing datasets
Incorporate a data ethics framework into existing project workflows
What we're looking for:
Experience in data governance, privacy or risk/audit management
Experience in driving organisational change around data governance and data privacy
Demonstrated strong project management practices
Demonstrated leadership of pragmatic data governance plans that incorporates operational and commercial implications of delivering data policies and privacy regulations
Expert knowledge of enterprise database tools and ecosystems and data architecture, with demonstrated experience in understanding how business requirements bridge with technical development
Experience in working with large complex data systems to aggregate, organize, and prepare data for use in business analysis
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Business
IT System Audit certification (i.e. CISA) ideal
