Working in compliance with the national accreditation standards, provincial and regional standards of practice for safety and quality, the Director, INVIVA and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) will lead the implementation of higher standards of professional practice and care across the network whileoverseeing arange of clinical services and programs provided to patients across Canada.The Director INVIVA and CNO will be responsible for all nursing services and practice, physician relationships, clinical and operational processes and education of all INVIVA activity.
Duties and responsibilities generally include but are not limited to:
Formulates, interprets and implements the philosophy, objectives, policies, and professional standards for nursing care through the implementation of educational, research and human resource services.
Collaborates with the Regional Nursing Managers to determine the staffing needs for the INVIVA clinics, develops and implements a marketing and recruitment and retention plan to maintain adequate staffing levels of competent nursing staff.
Collaborates with the Regional Nursing Managers, Clinical Educator and nursing staff to promote a spirit of inquiry and to develop research standards/studies for the investigation of best practices to promote performance improvement based on data and outcomes.
Lead efforts through the Clinical Educator for the promotion of Nursing Research and Evidence Based Practice Nursing.Lead the development of an annual Education plan for all INVIVA staff.
Leads the development of professional practice policies and procedures within the INVIVA business ensuring that all provincial regulatory criteria are respected.
Leads the recruitment, contracting, communication and ongoing relationship with clinic Physician coverage personnel.
Working collaboratively with the Chair of the Clinical Advisory Committee, recruits, contracts and maintains relationships with Provincial Medical Directors.Oversees meeting agendas, ensures Medical Directives have annual sign-off and ongoing practice issues requiring physician input are discussed.
Participates in strategic planning initiatives and formulates annual goals and objectives that support the goals of INVIVA.
Participates with other leaders in short-term and long-term strategic planning related to budgets.
Ensure that all programs/projects are executed according to customer expectations and KPIs/metrics with appropriate policies, procedures and staffing.
Responsible for the formulation and monitoring of the nursing budget and meeting financial targets. Support the Vice President for monthly INVIVA financial management and promote operational efficiencies and cost-savings.
Ensure operational KPI’s are in place to monitor efficiencies across the portfolio and continually execute operations efficiently.
Lead Key Account Management for INVIVA customers by working collaboratively with McKesson Specialty Health Key Account Managers to deliver regular reports, quarterly business reviews and address any ongoing operational concerns, issue or challenges.
Working collaboratively with the Vice President, contribute to Business Development efforts through responding to RFP and Manufacturer proposals for new business including innovative new models of care for service delivery.
Maintains awareness of current trends and legislation affecting the nursing profession and healthcare delivery and ensures business policies and procedures are current and accurate to reflect professional practice changes.
Lead business through Accreditation Canada process ensuring successful maintenance of accreditation status and ensuring ongoing business conformance with standards of practice.
Represent privacy within the business fulfilling the role of Privacy Lead within INVIVA.Work collaboratively with Privacy Personal to ensure all privacy polices and procedures are followed and privacy principles are embedded within business operations.
Coordinate and execute presentations, demonstrations and/or site visits to ensure professional service delivery and ensure professional competent workforce
Maintain industry and product knowledge and inform Company of changing market conditions and competitive issues that could potentially affect the company or the workforce.
Evaluate the job performance of nursing staff and clinical educator by reviewing an employee's performance of completed work assignments and work techniques and gives staff suggestions on improving their work performance.Translate leadership requirements to manager’s staff ensuring consistent application of McKesson Human Resource policies and resulting in employee engagement.
Follow company Health and Safety and expense policies and follow privacy and document retention policy.
Bachelor of Nursing degree;
Master’s Degree in Nursing or related discipline is considered an asset;
Active Registration with the College of Registered Nurses
Ability to communicate fluently in English; French an asset;
Minimum of 5 years of management/nursing leadership experience with multidisciplinary teams in a health services setting;
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with physicians in the delivery of practice based care including medical directives and medical advisory committees;
Strong foundational knowledge of privacy legislation in Canada including experience implementing privacy policies in healthcare;
Experience managing the operations of an organization inclusive of quality and continuous improvement, planning, administration, staffing, supervision, budgeting and reporting;
Experience working with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic vision and organizational planning;
Demonstrated ability to build effective work relationships/partnerships with internal and external individuals, stakeholders and partner organizations;
