We are currently seeking a Director of Materials Management and Planning to support our new greenfield cell therapy manufacturing facility in Urbana, MD.


In this role, we would like you to lead the effort to build the Materials Management and Planning organization and develop the business processes required for production planning and scheduling, materials management, and warehouse management.


Specific Job Responsibilities:

You will be collaborating with Corporate Supply Chain, this position is responsible for leading the production planning, material control, inventory control and shipping/receiving functions for a high volume cell therapy manufacturing facility.

You will be responsible for an organization (~15-25 staff) that will oversee production planning, warehouse management, shipping/receiving, and providing raw materials to manufacturing.

You will coordinate the activities of department management, and provides direction and assistance on resolution of complex issues, compliance issues and potential problems related to production planning and material management.

You will make or recommend appropriate decisions consistent with strategic direction.

You will manage the supply and demand between the plant and the corporate supply chain function.

You will take responsibility for staff development, budgeting and cost control, talent mapping, succession planning, the development of strong leaders within the function, and multi-function long-term planning.

Knowledge, Education & Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience in related field.

Sets organizational objectives and interprets company policies. Possess in-depth expertise in cGMPs.

Demonstrates effective communication skills and the ability to deal across several multi-national agencies, sites and organizations.

Have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong computer and organizational skills required. Project management experiences a plus.
