Job Description  

SUMMARY: 

Responsible for increasing the company’s sales and market share in the assigned region. Develop and execute pursuit strategies for FLIR Sensor products in assigned region. Lead the proposal process for all pursuits in assigned region or as directed. Manage existing customers. Work to develop and anticipate future customer requirements and needs. 

SALES TERRITORIES: 

Americas (Canada / Latin America North) 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Promote, develop and conclude the sales of FLIR Systems’ products into the territory.  Manage the sales process with an emphasis on predictable growth and success in programmatic business development Identify and manage sales representatives and distributors within the region to ensure compliance with FLIR’s established policies and procedures. Support sales representatives and distributers within the region in the sales pursuits with timely responses to RFQ, RFPs, demo requests, and information requests. Lead cross functional teams in the proposal process. Identify and develop prospective local partners / customers to add value to FLIR’s product line as well as integrate FLIR’s products into complete mission solutions. Travel up to 50% in the territory to complete the sales objectives. Travel to support trade shows, customer demonstrations and other business development activities in a cost-effective manner consistent with company policy and under budget as defined by the Vice President of Global Sales Develop intelligence on competitors in the marketplace Host international visitors to FLIR Systems facilities Provide timely reporting of Sales forecasts and activities Meet or exceed revenue forecast for region. 

REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work from FLIR’s Fort Worth, TX office location.  

5 years of Strategic Selling. 

Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) to foreign governments and US Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program experience desired. 

A track record of teaming with integrators, prime contractors, and 3rd party OEMs for government sales and government (primarily military and paramilitary) end customers in the region is required. 

Customer contacts and proven cross-cultural familiarity and language skills within the territory a plus.

Ability to respond to government tenders and preparation of complicated proposals and presentations. 

Strong and persuasive writing skills. Working knowledge of international representative selling organizations and distribution channels.

College Degree desired – Masters preferred Experience with EO/IR and radar technologies for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and targeting applications preferred. Ideal candidate will have former US military experience with background in one or more of the above fields.  

Technically adept and able to make complicated presentations and briefings to convey simple messages to win key selling accounts.

Computer proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint Ability to multi-task and support the Director of Business Development Americas (Direct Report) Ability to communicate effectively in the native language(s) of the customer base (English, Spanish, French) preferred.

Ability to travel extensively up to 50%. Ability to develop professional briefing material and confidently present to customers and to industry forums.
