This role will involve setting eCommerce category and merchandising strategy, and being accountable to financial performance while supporting the curation of our product assortment and building strong relationships with our vendor base.

Responsibilities


Manage a team of 7+ high-performing Buyers and Assistant Buyers, and coach and develop merchant talent

Drive the performance of Food52’s multi-brand eCommerce platform including P&L responsibility, oversight of purchasing decisions, planning, budgeting, and all financial results

Work closely across Site Merchandising, Audience Growth, and Editorial and other key cross-functional teams to develop and execute successful moments across the Commerce calendar (e.g. Holiday)

Oversee merchandising and assortment curation for all categories, ensuring Food52’s assortment maintains a cohesive aesthetic

Support VP with Commerce P&L management and analysis of key business metrics and commerce performance (sales, margin, conversion, AOV, repeat rate, etc.)

Develop strategy and growth plans for our eCommerce business by identifying relevant category trends to meet diverse customer needs across various product areas

Influence high-visibility supplier relationships (cost negotiation, secure production capacity, etc.) and establish new supplier relationships as needed

Identify improvements to our business process and customer experience and bring them to life


Requirements


8+ years of eCommerce, General Management, or relevant P&L management experience

4+ years experience managing direct reports and high-performing teams

Demonstrable retail expertise and passion for the industry, ideally with specific experience in food and home and a strong pulse of competitors in each category

Keen eye for curation, great products, and beautiful tools and wares

Strong track record of building effective teams, driving business strategy, and delivering financial results

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and enact strategy and tactics with urgency

Team-oriented with the ability to effectively collaborate with partners across the organization at all levels; ability to negotiate and influence peers and members of cross-functional teams

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Impeccable communication skills – listening, written, and oral

Process-driven and constantly looking for ways to streamline and simplify complex tasks
