As a Director of Construction, you provide leadership for all ground-up new construction projects for the entire New Construction portfolio, totaling $150M+ in current construction contracts – with P&L responsibility of $100M. You are a trusted advisor to C-suite and Executive leadership as you drive growth and expansion into third-party markets. Here are the roles you’ll play:
Display proven aptitude and experience in design and development, municipal consultation, zone changes and variance requests, project cost projections and pro formas, and city/county/state development approval processes and entitlements, as well as land development and construction project management
Design master plans for large, fully functioning communities by performing due diligence, preparing bid packages, completing development plans, ensuring compliance, and meeting building codes
Identify, contract with, and manage the right people and companies to get the work done on time and within budget
Enjoy the responsibility and rewards that come with managing large accounts
Ensure quality deliverables in your projects while meeting agreed-upon time and budgetary restrictions
Prepare division and project budgets with aggressive yet attainable goals
Own the P&L budget for the Georgia portfolio; report and present financial results quarterly as a member of leadership
The Team Leader
Lead the construction division fearlessly, setting annual departmental goals, communicating performance requirements, monitoring progress, and creating monthly tracking reports
Share your wisdom and insights with the team, prioritize their tasks, make sure they follow protocol, and motivate them to go above and beyond the call of duty
Mentor your extended staff, reviewing their progress and motivating them to achieve new heights

YOUR BUILDING BLOCKS OF SUCCESS
Stellar 7+ years of progressive construction experience within multifamily, student housing, or senior living, focusing on ground-up construction
Bachelor's degree or higher in construction, engineering, architecture, or a related field; PE, CCM, CDP, LEED GA, or LEED AP certification preferred
Experience managing construction projects ranging from $50M-$150M in scope and size
Ability to lead and manage diverse, high-performing construction teams comprised of construction managers, project managers, superintendents, etc.
