The Director of Corporate Relations reports to the Vice President, Development & Communications and supervises a Development Coordinator. As a member of the national development team, the Director works in close collaboration with national leadership, regional Executive Directors and Development Managers to expand corporate investment in programs, operations, and campaigns, at both the national and local level. Successful candidates will be experienced in building new fundraising programs, metrics-driven, and eager to lead and mentor colleagues and volunteer leadership.

Specific responsibilities:

Oversee rapidly-growing national corporate philanthropy program; develop and implement strategies to achieve revenue goals in partnership with national and site leadership, and development staff.

Manage a portfolio of current corporate partners, and independently solicit and secure new investments from $10K-$1M+ to support national and regional operations, programs, capital.

Supervise Development Coordinator; provide strategic and solicitation support to matrixed staff, including regional Development Managers and site Executive Directors.

Identify and cultivate prospects, strategically source and respond to new leads, initiate gift discussions, create stewardship plans, oversee administration of corporate benefit fulfillment.

Lead expansion of regional and national corporate investment; build partnership sincluding sponsorships, grants, employee engagement, promotions, veteran hiring, cause-marketing.

Develop compelling gift opportunities and proposals, presentations, collateral and other deliverables for corporate partners and prospects, in partnership with Program and Comm staff.

Design and implement strategic engagement and creative stewardship opportunities for current donors, including reports, invitations, in person meetings, recognition and volunteerism.

Create processes, best practices and templates for corporate stewardship, engagement, acknowledgment, to promote a culture of gratitude among internal and external constituents.

Partner with senior leadership, Advisory Councils, Board of Directors to cultivate and solicit gifts.

Ensure internal coordination and collaboration around solicitations, stewardship and reporting.

Participate in capital campaign development, coordination and solicitation for extensive new building and renovation projects nationally; support site staff in securing $50K-$1M capital gifts.

Build and manage national cause-marketing campaigns, including partnerships and execution.

Develop and implement systems to track performance metrics and pipeline development.

Utilize donor research tools to support meeting preparation and strategic solicitation.

Effectively communicate regional needs, build strong relationships with site Executive Directors, Development & Communications Managers, and other staff to understand and meet site needs.

Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including national executives and development team, and staff at each site by providing responsive, high-quality customer service.

Accurately track donor and prospect information, deadlines, action steps in Raiser’s Edge.

Bachelor’s degree required.

7-10 years of relevant experience in fundraising and corporate partnerships.

Demonstrated success in soliciting and securing five and six-figure gifts in a nonprofit setting.

Proven skills in moves management, and creation of strategies to sustain and increase investment.

Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills; persuasive writing and presentation style.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, work in a deadline- driven environment and manage complex projects while maintaining attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively with and build consensus among diverse internal stakeholders.

Comfort working independently and as a team, ability to lead both direct and indirect reports.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.

Flexibility to work some evenings as well as occasional travel.

High levels of integrity, flexibility and strategic thinking are necessary, along with the creativity and persistence required to elicit new thinking and change.
