The City of San Rafael is looking for a Director of Employee Experience and Culture. We invite you to lead innovative changes in support of a flourishing city. The Director should have experience with labor and employee relations, policy and procedures, long-range strategic planning, employee development and training, workplace safety and risk, classification and compensation, and the ability to oversee other HR functions such as benefits administration, wellness, recruitment and selection, worker’s compensation, etc.
The Director of Employee Experience and Culture leads a division of four support staff and is part of the City’s executive team who represent a culture that inspires creative thinking, engagement, and supports quality of life and work-life balance. In addition to overseeing all HR activities for the City, the Director of Employee Experience and Culture is responsible for the overall direction and vision of the department, provides professional support and consultation and makes recommendations regarding operational, policy guidance, and personnel matters to City Manager, Assistant City Manager and department leaders and the City Council.
