Directs, manages, and plans all activities to support Wells Enterprises Quality Assurance including support of food safety and relevant regulations, while developing and maintaining control, inspection and testing procedures that will ensure high quality standards are maintained and customer specifications are met.

Periodically evaluates the accuracy, frequency, levels of coverage, and acceptance standards of all inspection and testing procedures. Initiates and improves programs and projects that will maintain and support conformance with the reliability and specifications of customer and company requirements.

Initiates and implements employee training programs that are directed towards improved manufacturing and quality awareness (QFSEs, SQF, SPC, SOPs, quality procedures, problem solving, root cause analysis, etc.). Helps to drive the entire enterprise toward a consumer-centric, quality-minded culture.

Serves as the Corporate QA liaison with the Operations & Supply Chain and members of the Business Leadership Teams.

Ensures that statistical process control (SPC) is utilized to evaluate all significant characteristics related to the in-process assembly operation and monitor the out-going quality level of products through the final audit procedure.

Determines the direction of the department in conjunction with company policies and the needs of other departments.

Provides information and counsels employees on procedures and operational changes.

Directs the activities of the Enterprise Quality Manager and Plant Quality Leaders. 


Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree a plus.

Minimum 10 years experience in a food manufacturing environment with strong focus on quality and food safety.

Requires ability to travel 50% to 75% of the time. 

Knowledge - Knowledge of Food Manufacturing to include processing, packaging, sanitation, and food safety.

Skills - Skill in examining and refining operations and procedures, formulating policies and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.

Abilities - Ability to implement programs, problem solving, manage and train staff, fostering a cooperative work environment.
