What does a great Director of Product Marketing do?

Evaluate evolving needs of small business restaurant customer while excelling at executing tactically to drive business results.

Collaborate with research, sales, and audience insights to better understand the needs of the restaurant audience.

Showcase those insights to build positioning and messaging of products and marketing and sales enablement materials and use those insights to drive successful go-to-market product launches.

Focus on analytics and set a learning agenda for all projects that raise the bar for impact against engagement and business goals.


Serve as a specialist on the challenges and needs of restaurant merchants and how Clover solutions address those needs.

Understand the customer experience and develop sales enablement tools that address issues and drive sales.

Drive competitive research initiatives in restaurant technology trends, ecosystem developments, and competitive moves that influence customer needs

Produce compelling messaging for internal and external audiences, to be used across multiple touchpoints, including website, PR / comms, and sales

Be a go-to-market specialist: work with the product, design, marketing, commercialization, sales teams, and partner channels to drive new product launches

Develop and execute marketing campaigns that range from sales enablement materials, merchant communications (emails, in-product messaging, videos), digital campaigns (website, paid marketing), and PR/events

Use product knowledge and emerging trends to influence product and business development decisions

Demonstrate skill at preparing business cases and gain cross-functional alignment in order to help build and grow new products/services that help Clover redefine the industry.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

BA, MBA preferred

10+ years of relevant product marketing experience, including driving cross-functional go-to-market efforts and holding teams accountable for results

Consistent track record of driving successful go-to-market launches that drive adoption and bottom-line impact

Fluency with data - including market/segment sizing, forecasting, and working with analytics to understand the efficacy of campaigns after the fact

Domain experience in small business point-of-sale industry, ideally in restaurants

Strong technical and creative writer, and verbal communicator

Ability to manage across teams (and upwards) to ensure tight deadlines are met both internally and externally

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:


Experience managing sophisticated projects with multiple stakeholders

Hardware, software, and services experience

Experience marketing to existing customers and building lifecycle marketing campaigns

Restaurant industry experience, especially with small business
