Under the direction of the CMQO and in close collaboration with the department of Clinical Services, the Director of Quality and Patient Safety provides the leadership and direction for the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of organizational quality, safety processes and quality measurement systems. Champions a culture of quality and safety through leadership, role modeling, teaching and mentoring. Develops a systematic, department wide approach to identifying, designing, measuring, prioritizing and monitoring all quality management activities. Facilitates measurable improvement in clinical outcomes, operational excellence, and patient satisfaction. Partners with Regulatory Affairs to support accreditation and reaccreditation activities to ensure compliance with relevant standards of performance, including CMS, the Joint Commission.
Currently registered to practice nursing in VT.Masters degree required - either BSN or MSN.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in nursing with evidence of leadership and consultative skills required.
Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies, tools, and techniques; experience leading and facilitating performance improvement teams within the healthcare environment. Demonstrated ability to function independently. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and concisely both verbally and in writing with individuals and groups at various levels and various disciplines.
