The Director of Sales leads an experienced outside sales team and accompanying sales support team to achieve sales targets, profitability and marketing objectives of Cantel Life Sciences (commercial & industrial services/capital equipment/consumables) within the United States while operating within the company policies/procedures and expense budget. He/she is accountable for hiring, managing and developing sales personnel and implements sales programs designed to increase sales. He/she plans, prioritizes, coordinates, and reports on all commercial & industrial sales-related activities.



What you will do

Recruits, hires, trains, and manages an effective sales growth orientated team. Maintains routine and robust lines of communications, field rides, management support, leadership performance and development of each team member.

Conduct routine performance reviews (field ride evaluations) that are both qualitative and quantitative.

Assesses the strengths and weaknesses of the sales team, develops guidance and leadership approaches, and provides coaching to advance each representative’s capabilities and contribution to the team.

Develops and implements business plans under the direction of the SVP.

Implements sales strategies and tactics, promoting products to existing and new customers.

Establish U.S. sales targets and meet or exceed targets to ensure achievement of the U.S. sales budget

Achieves sales targets by driving sales team to deliver above market share growth through product sales introductions in assigned territories.

Develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies, and programs to accelerate revenue growth.

Develop short and long-term goals and objectives (in conjunction with management peers) that align with the strategic growth plans of Cantel Life Sciences in the US.

Assesses current market factors, identifying and communicating new business and/or product enhancement opportunities. Lead activities to capitalize on new sales and business development opportunities within the U.S..

Works closely with the marketing team to develop and implement lead generation and marketing strategies.

Works closely with the service team to identify opportunities for improved operations and assists with implementation of improvements.

Works closely with the legal team to negotiate mutually beneficial customer terms and conditions

Works closely with the finance team to develop revenue, cost, and capital equipment budgets for the sales team

Leads Inside Sales Manager to fully support outside sales team, including timely renewal of large volume of annual contracts

As often as needed, provide updates/information and direction to the team regarding new developments, competitive activity, new products or any other topic that may have an impact on the business.

Monitors and reports competitive activity within the region.

Assures compliance with all Cantel Life Sciences policies. #CB



What we are looking for

A minimum of 5 years of successful sales management experience and demonstrated success with leadership initiatives and results.

Proven success in achieving sales objectives.

Excellent negotiation skills

Understands various sales strategies to capitalize on opportunities and curtail competitive threats.

Strong analytical capability to understand deal profitability and problem solving.

Possess excellent communication, decision-making, human relations, presentation, and organization skills.

Demonstrated peer leadership, coaching, training and mentoring



EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in business, sales, or marketing or equivalent training in business or sales management. MBA preferred.
