The Director of Security must maintain and represent the highest standards of ethical conduct.The Director of Security will assist all departments in providing exceptional guest service while simultaneously ensuring a safe environment for all.This individual will need to be sensitive to the needs of stakeholders while providing uncompromising attention to safety.


Monitor all life/safety systems throughout the entire building including heart-of-house, hotel and residences

Collaborate with resident homeowners and building ownership to provide the utmost protection to assets and people for Four Seasons Private Residences

Manage the Security Officer team including scheduling, hiring, coaching and counseling

Liaise with local law enforcement and participate in forums such as Seattle SHIELD to ensure hotel’s engagement is strong with municipal public safety efforts

Establish relationships with leadership of the Seattle Police Department, including the hotel’s precinct

Develop a comprehensive “rounds” schedule for all hotel and residential public and heart-of-house spaces

Maintain checklists for operational verification and regular maintenance of Security equipment including: door locks, cameras, key distribution system

Complete and proof Security Incident Reports for guest, employee and vendor incidents including: accidents, vehicle damage, injury, illness, illegal behavior, etc.

Coordinate all life-safety action plans and drills including fire and earthquake

Work closely with the Finance department to mitigate claims loss

Manage hotel’s workers compensation/workplace injury program

Assist with operation of department, working shifts as necessary

Organize security requirements for high profile guests in coordination with external resources

Develop comprehensive strategies for maintaining safety during potential business disruption events such as city-wide protests, fires, earthquakes or mass violence

Prevent situations that could jeopardize the reputation of the hotel

Conduct investigations regarding possible criminal conduct by guests, employees or vendors

Organize training for Security and hotel employees in safety, first aid, CPR and security awareness

Chair hotel’s safety committee

Engage with residents to address concerns about building life safety and security

Preferred Qualifications and Skills


Bachelors degree in public safety or related field or 10 years of progressive security/law enforcement experience

2-3 years of security management experience

Strong reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language; must have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office suite of programs

Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders, including employees, management, guests and residents

First Responder Certification a plus
