The Director, Site Operations position oversees HealthStream’s site operations group which currently consists of eight Network Engineers, and is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the server and network infrastructure for HealthStream’s 24/7 high-capacity, high transaction volume production environment. This position reports directly to HealthStream’s Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director, Site Operation and the site operations group are responsible for the maintenance and administration of all production servers and server clusters, disaster recovery, back-up and restore protocols, and the planning and support of the network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls and load balance devices. The site operations group manages and maintains HealthStream’s relationship with our 3rd party data center providers.The group performs troubleshooting analysis of the servers, network, and associated systems. The group documents network problems and resolution for future reference, documents and monitors system performance, implements performance tuning, manages user accounts, permissions, and manages all aspects of Active Directory. The Director, Site Operations position is a hands-on, technical position which requires a thorough knowledge of networking hardware and software protocols, and oversees hardware, software and network security.The site operations group has the primary responsibility for maintaining HealthStream’s SLA commitments to our 3000+ hospital customers including maintaining 99.9% platform availability.
HealthStream’s application development methodology is SCRUM based, and we currently have 14 development teams enhancing and maintaining the platform using a zero down time, continuous integration release approach.The Director, Site Operations and the site operations team are responsible for code deployments across our multiple application and database servers, and are responsible for building and maintaining the automated processes which support these deployments.The Director, Site Operations position works closely with the Director, Database Administration and the DBA Team in the maintenance and performance tuning of the platform.
1. KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar.
A Master’s Degree is a plus.
Experience: 10-15 Years of technical and management experience managing and maintaining large, enterprise class, high transaction volume, high availability, load balanced, web delivered application infrastructure environments preferably in a SaaS delivery model
Experience working in and managing an infrastructure environment supporting a large scale, custom application suite, and working directly with multiple development teams support multiple applications, is a must.
Direct experience managing a technical infrastructure team is required.
2. SKILLS REQUIRED:
Systems: Dell, Windows, Cisco, F5, CheckPoint/Nokia, and EMC.
Software: Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server, VMWare, Microsoft Cluster Server, IIS, Microsoft .net. ASP.net, Active Directory, SNMP, network capture and protocol analysis.
Networking: Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, BGP, SMTP.
Strong documentation skills with attention to detail required.
Grasp of ASP.NET fundamentals, with experience in tuning for best performance, with strong analytical abilities and professional office experience required.
Excellent enhanced network and systems troubleshooting skills are required
3. ABILITIES REQUIRED:
The ability to work well under pressure while responding to issues reported on the production systems.
Also must work well under pressure of deadlines and project timelines.
