The Director of Strategic Accounts will manage and optimize key account(s) in the Direct to Consumer channel.This business unit is responsible for direct response marketing (both online and offline) across traditional prepaid, fintech and affinity segments.This role reports to the SVP of the Direct Channel and is responsible for driving partner relationships, program scale and P&L growth.This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Analytics, Product, Finance, Creative and Development teams.This position is based in San Mateo, CA and there will be occasional travel to NetSpend’s headquarters in Austin, Texas.


Drive partnership strategy, develop go to market plans and manage overall direction of relationship

Serve as program owner and maintain a holistic view at both the operational and strategic level of the partnership

Lead cross-functional teams to launch and scale programs/products

Partner with Business Development and Product to evaluate new opportunities, expand existing relationship and enhance feature/functionality to ensure program/product remains competitive

Collaborate with the Partner along with internal Marketing, Analytics and Creative teams to design and execute multi-channel acquisition strategies to produce profitable customer relationships and maximize ROI

Leverage data, analytics and industry knowledge to drive program growth and lifetime value

Maintain deep understanding of contractual relationship and track/enforce obligations

Prepare key account and management reports

Present updates to executive leadership team


Bachelor’s degree preferably in business or marketing; MBA preferred

10-12 years minimum experience in account management, direct-to-consumer marketing, product marketing and/or program management

Prior work experience in the Fintech space, prepaid/stored value processor, financial services, payments or network provider preferred

Practical working knowledge of multi-channel consumer marketing strategies with an emphasis on direct to consumer marketing

Ability to navigate organizations and establish productive working relationships at all levels

Proven ability to negotiate effectively and influence change with internal and external business partners

Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects to completion

Ability to maintain a good balance of strategic vision and tactical implementation

Data driven and comfortable working in a data intensive environment

Strong professional ethics and impeccable personal integrity

Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills

Strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
