As a member of the Servicing Operations leadership team, the Director of Recoveries will be responsible for building, directing, and leading the Recoveries team. This position will be responsible for managing Recovery operations in accordance with company policy and supporting the Senior Vice President of servicing operations in establishing and executing the company vision for recoveries.

What will you do each day to bring value to the organization

Oversee the recovery functions for the company to ensure company goals are achieved

Drive innovative solutions to improve dollars recovered across insurance, dealer, and customer recovery verticals

Develop and grow the existing servicing team to meet the needs of the business

Ensure department level procedures are adequately developed, trained to, and followed to ensure proper quality

Create a highly engaging work environment to attract, develop and retain talent

Partner with IT and analytics to leverage technology and data to improve customer experience, streamline processes, improve quality and eliminate waste

Partner with legal and compliance to monitor department compliance with consumer finance industry laws and regulations, and take appropriate action to establish compliance when necessary

Set departmental goals and oversee the development and maintenance of a daily employee work schedule that effectively meets the needs of the company, dealer customers, and the business unit

Run daily reports to optimize workflow efficiency; ensure the team meets service level expectations of internal and external customers

Participate in special projects as needed

Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by management

What should you already know to be successful in this role

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics or a related field required

10+ years prior experience building and leading teams and managers in collections and/or recoveries. Internal candidates at the Director level with commensurate experience and a track record of sustained, top performance against company standards may be considered

Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to leverage technology in business operations

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, personal ownership and drive towards results

Proven ability to hire, develop, motivate and deploy human resources to build a highly engaged and high performing team in a collaborative and changing environment

Able to work effectively in partnership with executive leadership

Ability to handle one-off escalated calls which require strong communication and empathy

Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead a team by providing quality training, guidance, performance coaching and feedback to assigned staff

Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and demonstrated ability to effectively set and manage multiple conflicting priorities

Ability to think strategically and deliver tactically

Proficient computer skills with a working knowledge of internet and standard business applications such as Microsoft Office; ability to quickly learn new computer applications as required
