We are looking for a highly motivated Director Revenue Accounting to join our team. In this highly visible role, you will manage the daily activities and staff of the revenue accounting team.You will be one of the main points of contact to ensure accurate revenue reporting, accounting data and compliance with applicable standards and policies and review contracts to ensure that any accounting issues and/or risks are addressed.


 


Your day-to-day


Oversee review of non-standard contracts to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with US GAAP and internal policies

Provide thought leadership on revenue recognition processes including new product introductions; participate in new product introduction discussions and assess impact on revenues and any potential recognition issues, and develop material for ongoing training for cross-functional organizations on revenue recognition matters

Assist in the creation, implementation, and compliance of revenue recognition policies and procedures

Lead process improvement initiatives to further streamline revenue tasks and shorten the revenue close cycle

Assisting in the implementation of and compliance with internal controls surrounding revenue recognition and ASC 606

Review and verify the accuracy of journal entries, revenue accruals and account reconciliations

Reviewing sales contracts and purchase orders for potential revenue recognition issues and compliance with internal policies and US GAAP.

Partner with cross functional teams on non-standard customer contract negotiations and revenue recognition assessments.

Research and prepare written technical accounting policies and position papers on an as-needed basis for non-standard revenue transactions

Lead, develop, and evaluate Revenue Accounting personnel to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the team

Provide guidance and training to the revenue accounting team

Oversee preparation of quarterly management reports such as revenue analysis and reconciliations

Assist with financial statement preparation and disclosure associated with revenue

Monitor relevant US GAAP and SEC developments to ensure compliance with the company’s revenue recognition policies and procedures

Work with the external audit firm on revenue recognition matters for quarterly reviews and annual audits

What you bring to the team


10+ years of experience in Revenue Accounting and Reporting, including experience working with a publicly traded company with a focus on SaaS revenue recognition preferred

BS in Finance or Accounting

CPA Required, Big 4 experience highly preferred

In-depth knowledge and experience with ASC 606 and the complexities of multiple-element arrangements.

Experienced in leading a team and driving change

Ability to identify revenue accounting issues and risks, and to develop, recommend and resolve solutions

Strong analytical skills

Experienced in ongoing system and process improvements

Ability to work effectively and partner with various departments

Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under time constraints and deadlines

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high growth environment

Must be meticulous, detail oriented and organized

Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration and influencing skills

Highly proficient in advanced MS Excel including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups

Working knowledge of D365 a plus
