Job Description  

Job Summary:

This position oversees the engineering staff locations in both Wilsonville, OR and Orlando, FL.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

2125 Software Development Mgmt: Directs the activities of a software systems development function, software applications development function, and a software quality assurance function for software enhancements and new products.

The scope of this position is twofold:

1. Visionary and Management Skills: Oversees the multi-disciplined surveillance engineering team, with a focus on developing the best product, creating and providing the best architectural guidance for our designers, to create the most efficient and advance platforms, that could be used on all our airborne products. The products need to be designs with Costs, Capability, growth and reliability quality in mind.

2. Selfstarter and contributor. The person needs to be fluent in many languages, have a very good mathematical skill set to create Navigation, Tracking, UI and other software related architectures and Algorithms. Must be able to balance design activities with management duties.

Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in SW, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

7–10 years’ experience in an engineering management role

Experience managing a project management system

Experience managing the development of integrated systems

Experience managing a product development system (stage gate preferred)

Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate to all levels of the company

Proficient in data collection, analysis, and presentations

Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access and the Internet

Must have experience with EO/IR surveillance products and be able to communicate on wide range of technical areas, both within the company and externally with customers and integrators

Able to collaborate across teams and sites within the organization to develop products balancing performance, cost and schedule with an emphasis on reuse when possible.Preferably attended Babson Leadership courses to meet other division key people

The ideal candidate will demonstrate competency in decision-making, flexibility, planning and organizing, initiative, and interpersonal skills

Other Qualifications:

Experience with military hardware and government customers

Experience with development/implementation of an intellectual property program

Experience with electro-mechanical systems development such as: radars, cameras, GPS and lasers

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsible for electrical, mechanical and systems engineers in both Wilsonville, OR and Orlando, FL facilities

Working Conditions:

Travel up to 25% of the time
