The Gaming Ecosystem Organization supports Xbox through our mission to empower game creators to realize their dreams.As the Director of Western Game Creator Partnerships, you are responsible for leading the team of Strategic Partner Managers that partners with Game Creators located in the Americas and EMEA to bring their games to the Xbox ecosystem, including Xbox Game Pass (Console, PC, and Ultimate), and empower them to grow, engage, and monetize their community of players.You will empower the Game Creators to focus on their games and communities by introducing them to Microsoft products and services for building and operating their games and their business. 


Responsibilities


In this role, you will identify opportunities and create strategic growth plans for partnerships with the Game Creators. For Game Creators to realize their dreams, they need to grow their business. Your team will


partner with them to identify programs and strategies to deliver that growth for the partners and Microsoft. This will include historical analysis of the partners business, recent investments, deals and partnerships, and leverage internal and external data and benchmarks to inform the strategy for Creator Partnerships – collectively and individually.  You will partner with Game Creators to deliver the games necessary to achieve Gaming’s growth agenda. This will include building new partnerships to introduce diverse game types, styles, genres, and narratives to increase representation and ensure all Gamers feel seen and included. As the Director, Western Game Creator Partnerships, you will need to recruit, develop, and retain a team of high-performing Partner Account Managers to achieve these business goals.

  • Be a connector. You will establish and maintain a strong network of relationships across the industry with partners, potential partners, competitors, investors, thought leaders, etc.You will leverage these relationships in opportunity identification and transaction execution.

  • Role Model a Growth Mindset and serve as a Change Agent for your team. As Team Xbox strives to bring the joy and community of gaming to everyone on the planet and the Gaming Ecosystem Organization empowers game creators to realize their dreams, the remit and roles of the team has expanded beyond the console to PC, xCloud, Game Pass and Azure.You will champion the Gaming strategy to your team and empower them to evangelize the strategy with their partners. 

  • Accelerate business for our partners and Microsoft. You will coach your team to listen to and understand the needs of their partners and craft a strategy that delivers win-win solutions for the partner and for Microsoft Gaming. You will build strong internal partnerships with Game Pass, xCloud, Marketing, and Azure to help accelerate our partnerships.

  • Be an Intrapreneur. Identify, evaluate, and champion new, inorganic growth opportunities in support of the broader Gaming and partner strategy. This includes developing the business case with the strategy team including the strategic rationale and economics, to advocate on behalf of our partners.You will partner with the Business Development team to creatively structure deal terms and develop a negotiation strategy. You will communicate with all stakeholders at all stages of the deal process to secure buy-in and approvals.

  • Be partner feedback and data driven. You will collect partner feedback, data and external trends to inform strategy and decision making. You will monitor progress against the strategy and investment areas to enable business success. You will synthesize partner feedback and industry signals/deal trends to influence Gaming product priorities, business models and deal structures.

  • Drive operational excellence. You will demonstrate to your team what excellent looks like, including creating strategic growth plans, compelling business cases and partner pitches, providing actionable reporting, meeting deadlines and expectations of internal teams and partners, and growing the partners business. Maintain ongoing relationship with partners to ensure compliance and commitments are fulfilled.

Qualifications



  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience is required

  • Demonstrated experience in a consumer, tech and/or interactive media & entertainment business focused on growing a partners business.

  • 6+ years of experience in partner management, business development, people management, content publishing/launch operations. Experience within the video game industry is a plus.

  • Possesses a network of relationships with partners, potential partners, competitors to aid in opportunity identification

  • Ability to lead, influence and drive results at all levels (from senior executives to individual contributors) and all functions (such as engineering, marketing, sales, services, finance and legal) in a complex technical and evolving business environment and under conditions of fast pace and ambiguity

  • Experience in developing long-term, strategic partnership growth plans and executing against those plan

  • Experience managing global teams across time zones and geographies preferred

  • Demonstrated exceptional people management and leadership capabilities

  • Inclusive and collaborative – driving teamwork and cross-team alignment

  • Strong partner relationship management and solution development skills

  • Strong executive presence including communication and presentation skills

  • Problem solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources, conflict resolution, and follow through with partners

  • Ability to travel globally to visit partners and teams up to 25% of time.

  • Playing video games, of any type, is a plus.
