Directs the operation of Wound Healing Centers. Leads and coordinates key strategic development and functional services to support department objectives and organizational goals. Maintains effective and responsive relationships with patients, attending medical staff, and other departments. Manages department finances, including budgeting and control of salary, non-salary, and capital investment expenses. Manages professional and clerical staff, including day-to-day supervision, employee relations, and staff development.
Oversees the day-to-day operation of all wound healing centers.
Ensures that all applicable programs meet accredidation / licensing criteria for the TJC, UHMS, and Virginia State Deparment of Health.
Coordinates program evaluation efforts through the systematic measurement and analysis of clinical outcomes, financial performance, quality indicators, stakeholder satisfaction and market forces and trends.
In conjunction with the Medical Director and other key clinical staff members takes a lead role in clinical program development.
Determines the appropriateness of admissions in accordance with the program guidelines.
Maintains effective and responsive relationships with patients, attending medical staff, and other departments.
Responds promptly to requests from other departments within the operating unit, and maintains cooperative relationship with corresponding department(s) at other operating units.
Ensures adherence to Service Excellence standards and provision of the outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
Manages department finances, including budgeting and control of salary, non-salary, and capital investment expenses.
Coordinates and monitors the development of long range plans and annual budgets for wound healing centers Monitors financial performance to ensure it meets budgeted revenue/expense ratios.
Oversees business office to assure appropriate billing amounts, compliance with billing practices and that all program policies are carried out to assure timely collections.
Manages professional and clerical staff, including day-to-day supervision, employee relations, and staff development.
Selects, hires, and trains staff to perform assigned functions at a competent level.
Develops work plans and schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels for the consistent delivery of quality of care.
Establishes performance expectations and provides direction, feedback, and guidance to employees.
Including the encouragement and facilitation of training opportunities for students and staff.
Completes performance evaluations, employee relations, and needed disciplinary activities.
On a regular basis meets with treatment team to review team functioning, develop new team procedures and receive feedback regarding program effectiveness and other related issues.
Provides opportunities for team members to develop and implement research projects which addresses individual interests related to the program population.
Experience: Experience in the development and management of specific hospital inpatient or outpatient programs. 3+ years, preferred.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in clinical specialty (e.g BSN, PT, OT). MHA or MBA , preferred.
Certification: Certification as required for specific functional areas.
Licensure: Licensure as required for specific functional areas
