The Charlotte Knights, Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, playing at nationally-renowned Truist Field in Charlotte’s booming Uptown are looking for their next Executive Director of Creative Services.The successful candidate will build on a foundation of success in delivering outstanding audio, video, and graphic design content with a fully-loaded production suite. The Executive Director will also have the ability to hire, train, and lead a team of full-time, part-time, and game day associates in execution of Knights games, special events, corporate partnership activations, and community relations activities.

 

TITLE:EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF CREATIVE SERVICES

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Hiring, training, and leading all members of the video/creative services department, which consists of one Director of Video Production, two to three hourly Video Production Associates and a dozen or more game-day production crew members.

Executive Producer in the creative process from start to finish – pre-production, shooting, interviewing, editing, designing and animating as required – for all Charlotte Knights video-related endeavors.

Charlotte Knights Charities event recaps (both onsite and offsite);

Truist Field Events video features and vignettes;

Non-baseball event features and recaps;

Charlotte Knights baseball content – game recaps, player features, hype videos, interviews, LED stat layouts, theme night accompaniments and more;

Corporate partnership activations (videos, live contests, digital ads and some print ads);

TV, digital, and graphic design production for external and internal marketing partners and platforms

Social media content for the Knights’ digital outlets

Other projects as assigned

 

Executing all live events at Truist Field that require audio, video, live broadcast and more from the video/entertainment department:

Full baseball schedule – collegiate baseball, Minor League Baseball, tournaments, showcases, and all-star events

Non-baseball events – Corporate batting practice events, movie nights, Charlotte community events, and Charlotte Knights Charities events with AV requirements.

Live event roles to fulfill as needed and with limited staff: public address announcer, music playing/management, video board operation, live stationary/mobile camera operation, technical direction and/or coloring of cameras, equipment maintenance, etc.

 

Designing and mapping all relevant digital content at Truist Field, including digital menus, corporate partnership ads, various company and event logo rotations, merchandise features, upcoming event information, starting lineups, directional language and more.

NOTE: Knowledge of XML 1.0 coding (for scoreboard stat layouts/graphics) is recommended but not required.

 

Engineering all live broadcasts emanating from Truist Field, including local and national TV broadcasts and live-streamed programming on relevant social media channels.

NOTE: It is highly recommended that the Executive Director of Creative Services and/or Director of Video Production is knowledgeable of both broadcast engineering and AV equipment maintenance. The ability to troubleshoot quickly is paramount to success. 

Organizing and maintaining all AV and production room equipment as well as repairing (when able) outdoor LED displays and/or concourse monitors.

 Collecting current and relevant information from department heads when launching new ad campaigns on outdoor digital platforms (LEDs) or other content delivery systems; maintaining a regular inventory of all sellable inventory – digital ads, in-game entertainment, concourse features, outside LED advertisement – in conjunction with colleagues who manage corporate or community accounts.

 Designing and developing key artwork and subsequent collateral for annual theme nights, promotional giveaways, marketing/outreach initiatives, and more. 


REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of four years of experience with video/graphic production software (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud)

Minimum of three years of experience managing a live sports production

Demonstrable ability to lead a team to achieve tasks and reach departmental and team goals

Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays throughout the calendar year

Excellent oral, written, and visual communication skills

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Knowledge of current industry and cultural trends and its relation to relevant, effective content
