CVS Health is looking for an Executive Director of Technical Architecture who will be responsible for an architecture team tasked with driving broad technical initiatives across multiple CVS Health Digital applications in pursuit of a unified customer-facing experience. This role requires EXCELLENT coalition-building skills, broad (and deep) technical knowledge, great communication skills, and strategic thinking. This role requires strong individual technical skills as well as people management experience.

• Proven leader at scale with the demonstrated ability to create technical solutions in large organizations with complex business requirements and constraints.

• Experienced architect of large-scale applications with extensive design experience in cloud-native architecture.

• Full stack technical experience including cloud infrastructure (e.g. GCP, AWS), web client frameworks (e.g. React , Angular) and mobile software development.

• Strong ability to work with stakeholders, including business, product, and UX team members.

• Experienced leader who brings a strategic mindset and who is capable of building realistic strategic roadmaps.

• Top-notch communication skills.

• A systems problem solver, able to move fluidly between high-level abstract thinking and detailed implementation.

• Passionate about technology with a very high technical aptitude.

• Is both broad and deep technically and enjoys the challenge of strategic technology leadership across a larger organization.

• Experience managing highly technical teams.


Role and Responsibilities


• Lead and participate in technical architecture initiatives that span across the Digital application portfolio.

• Build strong relationships and streams of collaboration across teams and solutions.

• Participate in building the architectural strategic direction for CVS Health Digital.

• Lead & guide a team of highly advanced technical architects in the creation of a platform for software development at scale.

• Participate in building the reference architecture for CVS Health Digital.

• Provide architectural leadership in identification of technology partnerships.


Pay Range


The typical pay range for this role is:

Minimum: 170,000

Maximum: 325,000


Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.


Required Qualifications


• 15+ years as a software developer/architect. 20+ years preferred.

• Experience leading large technical architecture initiatives that impact many value streams (e.g. multiple Release Trains).

• Recognized leader with technical teams, broad technical knowledge, and considered an expert in multiple technical subjects and popular Design Patterns catalogs.

• Recognized leader with technical teams, broad technical knowledge, and considered an expert in multiple technical subjects.

• Expertise in modern software design patterns.

• Excellent collaboration, influencing, evangelization, negotiation, coaching, mentoring, and coalition-building skills. Ability to work with persons at all levels, from the most junior person to VP levels, in all job functions (e.g. product, UX, developers, QA, DevOps).

• Excellent verbal and written communications.

• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with minimal supervision. Self-directed.

• Experience managing highly technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Health care and/or insurance industry experience


Education


Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.

Master’s degree in a technical field is desired.
