Description: The Executive Director, Police Chef administers, plans, and directs overall programs connected with Tarrant County Hospital District sites to provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, employees; protects Hospital District property from deliberate defacing or damage.


Typical Duties:


Prepares department operating budgets on an annual basis and monitors areas of responsibility for compliance within current budget.


Prepares and administer departmental performance evaluations.


Promotes departmental and organizational activities for providing courteous customer service to patients, families, visitors and external customers.


Participates in Leadership Development activities; implement strategies and processes to improve employee morale and performance.


Serves as Chief of the Tarrant County Hospital District police force; provide oversight of all police functions for JPS, Including responses to calls of service, crime prevention activities, training of officers, managing how resources are deployed, the professionalism of the police department, and ensuring high levels of customer service.


Plans and directs the administrative and operational activities of all Police Department employees.


Ensures cost effective department operations; prepare/review financial reports and annual operational and capital budgets for all areas of responsibilities and manage within the budgets approved.


Maintains liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and all JPS employees and serve as a community and customer relations advocate for the Leading Healthcare - Hospitals Company.


Generates and submit reports to executive management and other entities as required related to the productivity of all departments of responsibility.


Ensures a motivated and productive staff for all departments of responsibility through monthly department meetings, performance recognition, training sessions, and effective communication channels.


Provides leadership and mentoring support to staff supervisors for areas of responsibility.


Participates actively in Emergency/disaster preparedness for Leading Healthcare - Hospitals Company and in committees such as Environment of Care, hospital security directors’ meetings, and all other groups as appropriate.


Maintains eligibility for Peace Officer licensing through continuing education in accordance with TCLEOSE standards.


Performs other related job duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Law Enforcement, Police Science or related field.

5 plus years of law enforcement management at Captain level or above.


Preferred Education and Experience:

Master Peace Officer Certificate or Instructor Proficiency Certificate.


Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

Current license as a Texas Peace Officer issued by the Texas Commission of Law Enforcement Standards and Education (TECLEOSE).


Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

Certification as Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA); must be achieved within 2 years of hire for continued employment
