Business/Function Overview:


We have taken great strides over the last few years and we pride ourselves in the work we have accomplished within the Logistics Category Management role. We are looking for the right person to help lead FMC to the next level creating value for our business stakeholders.


Your role is based at the FMC Tower in Philadelphia. You will report into the Global Logistics Director as a key leader on his team. You are responsible for the leadership, growth and success of an outstanding global team reporting directly into you. All Logistics sub-categories are within your purview – Trucking, Ocean, Air, Warehousing, Freight Forwarding, 3PL, etc. In this role your priorities will be centered around strategy development and strategy execution to drive value within the Logistics organization beyond cost reduction. You are expected to achieve this by identifying and managing sourcing strategies; identifying/improving processes and tools; driving end-to-end total cost transparency; building, maintaining, and improving relationships with the FMC Supply Chain group, Commercial teams, and external suppliers; and using your knowledge, drive and passion to create Logistics related innovation for FMC.

Category Management


• Create, manage, and support the execution of FMC’s Global Logistics Category Strategy (e.g., annual review and adjustment to align with Supply Chain & Commercial objectives, ensuring alignment on the strategy with leadership, and ensuring progression and execution of the strategy).


• You will own the sourcing strategies which deliver breakthrough value to the organization while constantly striving for improved service quality, increased sustainability, and reduced risk.


• Drive end-to-end cost transparency for business stakeholders


• Own and manage key supplier relationships (e.g., refreshing, developing, and tracking metrics (KPIs/SLAs) as well as all associated contract life-cycle management activities (e.g., renewing expiring contracts, updating pricing, etc.).


• Provide end to end management of the sourcing managers to help them execute on the strategies: e.g. support their workload, prioritization of work, problem resolution, work review, feedback provision etc.


• Identify opportunities for optimization in the Logistics space, including but not limited to implementing a Transportation Management System (TMS)


• Study and understand the marketplace for changes, manage potential business impact, and develop risk mitigation plans.


• Develop and establish a regular cadence for market intelligence reporting with key stakeholders


Team Management


• You will be responsible for the success, growth, and satisfaction of four sourcing managers, and one analyst, many of whom work in other regions of the world.


• You will work to provide guidance and support on the work they are conducting as well as in the management of their workload and prioritization.


• You will be required to challenge their thought processes and identify areas for improvement.


• You will work closely with them to outline their goals, and their progress toward achieving their goals as well as their annual end to end performance review.


• You believe that their successes and failures are yours to share.


Skillset Required:


Functional/Technical Skills:


• Strong understanding of procurement processes and their integration points to Supply Chain, Operations and Finance to lead a center led global team, strong business acumen with track record of negotiating $M contracts


• Able to analyze complex business proposals and define strategy to achieve best value for FMC


• Experience negotiator with demonstrated track record, strong analytical and quantitative skills, and a demonstrated ability to analyze complex pricing proposals and formulate a strategic plan including strategic agility, expertise in contract management.


• Self-starter with a sense of urgency, drive for results on commitments, and able to manage multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity


• Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to quickly build strong relationship with partners and resolve disagreements, works effectively in a cross functional team and able to influence outcomes


Soft Skills:


• Demonstrated experience managing senior stakeholders


• Outstanding analytical thought process and strong user of MS Excel


• Ability to thrive in a fast pace, constantly changing environment

Education:


• Bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of 7 years (6 years with MBA) work experience relevant to logistics


• Demonstrated people manager experience for 2+ years


• International experience
