The Role  

JLL’s Global Product Management group is seeking a versatile Global Product Owner to lead Critical Environments & Ecosystems and play a key role in developing best-in-class approaches for managing a portfolio of global products and enabling technology ecosystems. As JLL increases its focus on technology and product management, the product team is focused on defining and building a product management process to streamline and simplify product/service offerings, increase product adoption with existing accounts, focus investment efforts in high-growth opportunities, minimize wasted product spend and increase portfolio profitability.


The Responsibilities 

This position requires a talented general manager of a global product portfolio and enabling technology ecosystem whose skillset balances a customer obsessed and analytical mindset.This individual will lead a team of product managers with the following responsibilities in two core areas:


1) Critical Environments: buildings and facilities, or areas within them, such as data centers, hospitals, manufacturing plants, clean rooms, trading floors, call centers, etc. where operational failure has the potential to cause significant and direct financial losses to the client.


Own and develop a competitively differentiated global portfolio of products for Critical Environments, including financial accountability on a per product basis with an emphasis on product pricing.

Create and drive the path to measuring overall health of the Critical Environment product portfolio at a regular cadence (i.e. maintain, update, reprice, replace, sunset, etc.)

Support our existing Critical Environments operations, business resources, and clients:

Manage the existing Critical Environments client base to ensure a consistent, world-class quality of service on account via standardization of both product and delivery/enablement

Launch targeted marketing campaign along with the development of marketing materials and sales collateral to promote and position our Data Center and Critical Environment capabilities

Ensure capacity and capability to handle potential new wins

Develop the Critical Environments product vision and strategic growth plans and present financial business cases for new, innovative products, operating models, and go-to-market strategies in partnership with core team members and enabling functions:

Study industry, market, competitive landscape, and technology trends to understand growth opportunities, unmet client needs, and how to differentiate and penetrate our offerings

Identify and size most attractive segments, buyer personas, and targeted value propositions to ensure we optimize for both revenue and profitability

Investigate adjacent markets and the ability to translate/modify established Data Center rigor, capabilities, and success stories to accelerate new market traction

Identify gaps in our offering and develop the product vision, detailed product roadmap, and build/buy/partner growth path to address them

Build and lead product teams through the product development process to execute against the strategic growth plan:

Produce product scoping and requirements documents, global product specifications, and targeted commercialization plans

Work closely with Engineering and the Critical Environments Operations teams to manage the delivery of products, strategic tools, and processes on budget and within defined schedule

Partner with JLL Technologies to digitize and develop AI based capability to deploy machine learning for critical environments via advanced data analytics of mission critical applications and processes

Explore various fee, pricing, and go-to-market models and select a pricing and go-to-market strategy that targets profitability

Explore pricing models and go to market options beyond embedment in core and existing Workplace Management offerings

Market test a tiered offering that appeals to different segments

Support Sales Solution Development and Account Management as needed for new business opportunities

Represent product team at internal and external JLL events and conferences and serve on Global Critical Environments Board focused on networking, best in class performance, program updates, and Engineering Center of Excellence

2) Workplace Management Product Ecosystems


Collaborate with the Workplace Management Global Product Lead, Owners, and their teams to create, implement, and manage a unified and holistic technology ecosystem, build/buy/partner/grow/incubate roadmap, and strategic business plan that rationalizes, integrates, and develops industry-leading in-house and business to business (B2B) offerings to enable, enhance, and differentiate our Workplace Management Multi-Generational Product Plans (MGPP).

Manage a team of Technology SMEs for the Global Workplace Management Product Group and ensure efficient and seamless integration and enterprise readiness for all technology solutions in the ecosystem.

Serve as single point of contact/entry point for external companies and/or organizations seeking to engage JLL Workplace Management in B2B arrangements.

Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining B2B partnerships, agreements, commercial structures, and performance KPIs aligned with the short- and long-term Workplace Management product strategies.

Serve as Workplace Management product group lead on multi-disciplinary tiger teams for all potential technology acquisitions and investments pertinent to our remit and overarching technology ecosystem.

Build close relationships and operating structures with JLL Technologies, Account Leadership, Sourcing, and Operations to engage the right JLL expertise into the B2B development, execution, and fulfilment process, in addition to potential acquisitions and investments.

Monitor external landscape and market players to identify trends, new and innovative products and operating models, and B2B/M&A opportunities aligned with the overarching ecosystem strategy. Engage targets and negotiate agreements and structures to mutual benefit of JLL and its partners/targets.

Develop and nurture a strong internal network of colleagues in addition to fostering close symbiotic relationships with all relevant and potential business partners, acquisitions, and investment targets.

The Requirements

Ideal candidate should have:


10+ years in product and/or technology development, partnership structuring and management, business development and/or innovation related roles 

BS/BA required, preferably in a relevant discipline; MBA a plus

Strong CRE background with depth of knowledge on CRE technologies and products, notably in Integrated Facilities Management (IFM), particularly as it pertains to Critical Environments

An ability to tell a story around innovation, find opportunity based on customer needs, and deliver innovation efforts leading to change

Proven track record of moving strategies to commercially viable and globally deployable technology solutions within a complex in-house plus partner ecosystem

Experience working in an autonomous role on global projects across a matrixed environment and developing and managing business and technology partnerships on a global scale

Experience negotiating complex and long-term contracts with large and global corporations

Strong project management capabilities with demonstrated experience in driving a host of initiatives at once, leading cross-functional business teams’ resources and project timetables.

Comfortable with ambiguity and constant change in direction/focus, experience leading through transformation.

Ability to cut down the complexity and work towards a simple solution and fast approach.

Entrepreneurial drive and ability to work at a fast pace.

Execution skills in coaching product teams through design / launch and redesign

Strong experience with data management, especially to drive accuracy and inform senior leaders and clients for decision making purposes
