This position works in collaboration with Senior Officers of the business in order to develop and manage the Government and Municipal business; the sale of ancillary bank products; the existing loan, fee and deposit portfolio, within a broad geographic Region.
Working in collaboration with Senior Officers, assists in the development of annual sales strategy and plan to achieve goals that include new sales, cross-sell and retention goals.
Assists Senior Officers in the development of profitable Government Banking deposit, lending and fee income portfolio in the Region, and managing the portfolio of Government Banking customers whose needs are extensive and complex due to the customer relationship, nature of the business and products or size of the loan.
Assists Senior Officers in the management of Request for Proposal (RFP) Process in Region to ensure the greatest opportunity of success. Analyzes requests and negotiates rates and fees. Ensures information provided is accurate and comprehensive.
Maintains and develops a network of professional contacts and Centers of Influence to expand the organization’s financial services relationships. Represents the organization at various external functions and events.
Keeps informed of current developments through participation in treasury, payments, and business services forums and industry conferences, trade functions, as well as industry networking events.
Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.
College degree or equivalent experience required.
5-8 years relevant experience. Formal Credit Training is a plus.
Demonstrate strong collaborative skills working with Senior Officers to plan, and manage the Government Banking Portfolio.
Successful in developing department strategies and goals aligned with corporate goals and objectives with regard to budgets, client services, products, pricing and profitability.
Demonstrate theoretical and practical levels of knowledge and expertise in Federal Reserve regulations, policies and procedures, check processing, float and availability.
Exhibit excellent professionalism and presence demonstrated by ability to work with all levels of senior management; ability to lead and influence multiple audiences, within and outside the organization; and ability to cultivate and foster strong relationships with internal and external clients.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are necessary to interact effectively with internal and external clients.
Ability to evaluate, analyze and quantify the financial impact of business decisions. Exhibit great attention to detail in all work results.
Demonstrate ability to utilize all resources and provide creative solutions to client needs and a demonstrated ability to sell products and services successfully.
