Job Description and Responsibilities
Visa continues to invest in business to business payments, across the small business, middle market and large market segments, deploying new virtual and digital solutions in domestic and cross border transactions. This role brings together the account executive, business development and supporting product management resources to lead the expansion of these services with our Visa customers in the region.
This is a senior business development role the UK and Ireland team that is focussed on delivering spend and revenue targets in the region, using the Visa suite of B2B products (including travel, procurement, small business and account to account payment services).
Using your knowledge of the payments market, work with your team, with Visa Issuers, Fintech and acquirers to maximise spend on the Visa network. This will require a solution orientation to your interactions, including being able to deploy Visa and partner solutions.
Have a strong understanding of the B2B payments market in the UK and Ireland, and how banks leverage multiple payment solutions for support their business customers across the small business, mid market and large market segments. This will include a clear understanding of how cash management and Treasury sales teams in the banks sell payment solutions, and of the business travel ecosystem.
Be the senior leader for Visa Business Solutions in the region. This means engaging with Visa Issuers at a senior level, maintaining senior level contacts, and being a successful influencer, in particular supporting Issuer incentive plans, both negotiation and implementation; ensuring Visa products are the preference for Visa issuers, creating opportunities for new Visa value added services, including, payment, pricing and analytics. This role also included new deal development and internal approval processes.
Manage a collaborative and focussed team of business development, account executive and solutions specialists. Work collaboratively with other teams in Visa of account executives and with the regional product management team, to ensure that customer objectives are met and that regional financial targets for spend and revenue are achieved. As a member of the region’s leadership team, be involved in multiple issues, challenges and opportunities across business and consumer payments.
The successful applicant will have an establish track record of business development experience in B2B payment, preferably in a card network environment.
A career in business to business payments (card network, cross border and domestic account to account) is important. An interest in the future of payments and the change being driven by regulation will also be needed.
An individual who is established in the payments industry in the UK and is well known to senior leaders in banks, Fintechs and payment companies and who can represent Visa in multiple forums and meetings.
This is a highly commercial role and you will need to manage the financial success of your efforts and the team. You will need strong financial, analytical, collaborative and product skills that align with managing major opportunities. This will include working with pricing and deal modelling teams.
Influencing skills with be a critical part of this role. You must be able to influence both internal and external business partners, and have the credibility to negotiate, strong relationship skills to gain confidence of clients and partners, and the ability to establish open and transparent relationships.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are critical. Ideally, you will be comfortable representing Visa with our customers and in public forums, and reflecting the Visa values.
