The Head of Strategic Finance will be responsible for setting the vision, building and managing the Strategic Finance team. This role reports to VP of Corporate Finance and Strategy.


Dropbox Strategic Finance provides data-driven insights and strategic direction for the company. The leader of this team will work directly with the most senior leadership of the company and cross-functionally with business partners across the broader organization. You can expect to define and drive detailed analyses to derive insights that will drive key business decisions, help define and track key performance metrics for the company, and act as a strategic partner to our Product and Business leadership teams. You’ll focus real-time on high-priority business issues and see your insights turned into impactful initiatives on a regular basis. 


The perfect candidate will have an investment banking and/or growth-investing background paired with extensive work experience at scaling technology businesses and very strong quantitative and analytical skills.


Example Projects:


Executed Dropbox’s IPO, driving key work streams that included crafting investor narrative, drafting S-1 and roadshow presentation, selecting key metrics, valuation & structuring

Worked with CEO, CFO, VP of Corporate Finance and Strategy, SVP of EPD, and other senior execs to develop company's 3-year growth plan and identify key product & go-to-market opportunities

Built the business case and helped determine pricing for new product launches, including Dropbox Professional, Dropbox Advanced, and Dropbox Enterprise

Helped the Business Development team negotiate and structure partnership agreements with leading technology companies such as Salesforce, Dell, Zoom, Slack and BetterCloud

Partnered with the Corporate Development team to analyze adjacent markets and identify top acquisition targets for Dropbox, including the acquisition of HelloSign

Worked with acquired businesses to define aspirational financial goals and synergies 


Responsibilities


Collaborate cross-functionally, with the Product and Growth/GTM organizations in particular, to identify, scope and monitor innovative growth opportunities and initiatives (organic and inorganic)

Develop data-driven investment theses, business cases, and evaluation criteria for growth and efficiency oriented initiatives

Direct quantitative modeling efforts to quantify revenue and efficiency-related initiatives

Work closely and directly with the CFO and executive leadership to support company-wide strategic initiatives

Work closely and collaboratively with Corporate Development to support acquisition target evaluation, due diligence and integration

Work closely and collaboratively with Investor Relations to assist in earnings preparation, benchmarking and supporting communications and messaging with investors and equity research analysts

Work closely and directly with the FP&A team to support financial goal setting and financial planning

Assist in development of Board presentations and materials


Requirements


8+ years of corporate finance and investment banking or private equity experience

Outstanding leadership skills with 4+ years of previous people management experience 

Strong understanding of SaaS business models, and ideally, self-service models

Keen strategy/product interest and intellectual curiosity

Highly analytical with strong attention to detail

Capable of solving complex business problems

Values-oriented, data-driven decision-making style

A degree in an analytically rigorous field (Business/Economics, Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering) or experience doing data analysis for a technology company is a plus

Ability to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and concrete action plans

Experience with SQL / HIVE
