Analyze the performance limitations of irregular workloads on AMD hardware and conceive of optimizations to accelerate the performance. Includes multi-core, multi-processor, and multi-node problems in shared memory and networking.
Implement innovative software and/or hardware solutions and demonstrate their effectiveness analytically and/or in simulation.
Drive the results of the research projects into product roadmaps.
Test and analyze innovations using datasets and execution patterns that match customer applications and requirements.
Submit patentable inventions.
Communicate research results to academic, product and commercial audiences.
Champion an innovation culture that creates results and impacts product roadmaps.
Extensive experience and successful innovation in one or more of the following fields.
CPU and GPU microarchitectures
Machine learning / Artificial Intelligence framework implementations
Low-level simulators such as GEMS/gem5, COMPASS and other simulators
GPGPU programming and other SIMD platforms for HPC and data analytics
History of successful innovation that is both published academically and integrated into commercial products.
Track record of issued patents that are embodied in successful products.
Experience collaborating across a geographically distributed team (AMD Research has sites across North America)
Additional experience desired:
Programming Languages: C++, C and proficient in OOP design & development
Experience with High Performance Computing systems
Multiple academic or corporate awards
PhD degree or equivalent accomplishments in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field
