Engineering

Designing and development of infrastructure engineering solutions for Linux engineering team

Engineering of Linux, Veritas, Ansible stacks/packages/patches for deployment by support/maintenance teams

Engineering of automation for testing, release, and deployment of packages/patches

Engineering of pipelines for automated testing release and deployment of packages/patches

Engineering of technology solutions for new virtualization products and use-cases

Engineering of virtualization technology solutions for internal cloud platforms

Performance and capacity engineering of Linux and layered products

Publish security baselines for products and appliances

Perform quality assurance of deliverables of self and team

Key Skills:

Overall experience 8 + years in the related field.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux v7 and v8

VMware

Ansible and other infrastructure automation technologies (including shell scripting)

Terraform

Agile

DevOps

Support

Platform SRE support

3rd level platform support

Vendor engagement to resolve critical platform issues

Automation for repetitive platform issue resolution

Initiatives

Improve security, stability, scalability, speed, and customer satisfaction of the technology platforms

Work on cross-technology platform initiatives

New technologies

POCs for new OS, Veritas and Ansible platform

Documentation and reporting/analysis

Document SOPs for downstream teams

Document project progress and milestones

Document monthly initiative updates to keep management abreast of progress

Processes

Follow Agile/DevOps processes for day-to-day activities

Shifts

Generally, the role will require working in the 1:30pm to 10:30pm shift in India

For high severity/priority production issues, the engineer will have to provide support as and when required

Collaboration with international colleagues will require being available during evening hours

Release activities and Change Request board meetings will require presence during off-hours
