The Director of Internal Audit will have the opportunity to assist the FanDuel Group leadership team in building a truly sustainable organization in one of the fastest growing technology sectors in the US today. This role is part of the Internal Audit management team and has a reporting line into the Group Director of Internal Audit, who reports into the Chair of the Audit Committee.  It has also a dotted line to the FanDuel Group Chief Financial Officer for administrative purposes. While oversight of delivery of the audit plan will be core to the role, developing strong relationships with senior management is critical as the business expands.


The role requires an individual to take ownership of all aspects of business audit for FanDuel Group.  It is expected that IT audit will transition to this role in time.  In the meantime, the role will be required to work closely with the Group Head of IT Audit, to ensure a seamless stakeholder experience and full coverage of divisional risks.  Initially, this role will have one direct report however it is expected that this will grow in the short-medium term. Until that time, additional resources will be provided from the Group Internal Audit team to facilitate delivery of audit plan etc. The role may require a small amount of travel, up to a maximum of 20%. The locations of travel will align to those in which the FanDuel Group operate and may include Los Angeles, Atlanta, Retail locations and other sites.  A small amount of travel to the Flutter Headquarters in Dublin will also be required.


Core Role



  • Implement a stakeholder management framework ensuring you build strong relationships with senior management, are aware of ongoing developments and that management are aware of Internal Audit activity, status of audits, agreed management actions etc.

  • Own development of the FanDuel Internal Audit Plan. Plans should provide an appropriate balance of coverage of key risks in addition to coverage or core processes and support in achievement of strategic objectives.

  • Oversee delivery of the Internal Audit Plan. Ensure audits are performed in a timely manner, to a high quality and in line with the Audit Methodology.If required, perform higher risk pieces of work/consultancy engagements directly.

  • Ensure Agreed Management Actions are appropriate to address identified issues and oversee monitoring of completion

  • Manage all aspects of ‘people’ for your team – this includes recruitment, onboarding, training, development opportunities etc. Some additional items are called out specifically below.

  • Support the wider Internal Audit function in developing and delivering the Internal Audit Strategy.

  • Support in the preparation of Audit Committee, Executive Risk Committee, Divisional Risk Committee, US Audit and Risk Committee papers etc as required.

  • Present to the Audit Committee, Executive Risk Committee or other similar forums as required.

THE STATS:

What we're looking for in our next teammate


A highly motivated self-starter with the following attributes and skills:



  • Ideally hold an Internal Audit qualification, or be able to demonstrate a robust knowledge of Internal Audit Standards and best practices

  • Minimum of 10 years audit experience in a Plc / practice audit environment. Must have experience of performing Internal Audit leadership role in the US in a regulated environment.

  • Proven track record in delivering high quality audits and risk assessments

  • People management experience and track record of developing high potential individuals

  • Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) at the highest professional level

  • Assertive, confident, and ability to influence senior management team

  • High energy and drive, and flexible enough to work in an entrepreneurial, dynamic and changing environment and the resilience to challenge/be challenged

  • Affinity with e-commerce environments and IT audit related issues is preferred

  • Strong process, technical and analytical skills, combined with strong commercial acumen

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • The potential to take on increasingly senior roles within the Flutter Entertainment Group

  • Previous experience of the gambling sector would be advantageous but is not essential
