The IT R&D Product Innovation group’s mission is to reach more patients and restore more lives by innovating and enhancing Johnson & Johnson’s medical device products. We are looking for a talented and ambitious IoT Automated Test leader to drive the strategy and execution of our new hospital medical devices IoT ecosystem. This candidate will have a real passion for tinkering, prototyping, and keeping pace with industry trends in IoT. Craft the test strategy and execution of the digital surgery IoT ecosystem including the IoT cloud, field hospital gateway, IoT applications, and data integrations to internal systems
Implement an automated testing strategy including black box and white box testing
Establish a BDD culture within the scrum teams
Establish a static code analysis methodology and rhythm within the scrum teams
Guide the functional and integration test teams on structuring of test data, function libraries, test steps, scenario scripts, business rules and any other framework design elements
Lead and handle all levels of testing including unit, system, load, integration, regression, verification, and validation testing
Partner with J&J cybersecurity to coordinate the execution of penetration testing
Build and lead test plans for each release
Partner with Product Quality to deliver the required artifacts for each release – test plans, test evidence, protocols, requirements traceability, known anomaly reports, etc.
Work with CI/CD team to integrate the automated testing into our daily development process and deployment pipeline
Coordinate across multiple scrum teams and independent digital products to create an integrated verification and validation plan
Contribute to software design and the development of new SOPs to ensure compliance while enabling speed to market
Drive product development towards an MVP that balances between user needs, business objectives, resource capacity, and technical feasibility
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree in the field of computer science, engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of practical work experience in an IT, engineering, or related technical field is required.
A minimum of 3 years of experience with BDD or TDD methodologies is required.
A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience managing automated testing is required.
Experience leading the test strategy for a product or application in a highly regulated environment is required. (examples: medical devices, GxP, SOX, aviation, banking, etc.)
Experience with Manual and Automated API Testing required
Experience in test automation frameworks such as Cucumber, Robot framework, or others is required.
Understanding of Agile SCRUM methodologies is required.
Experience in CI/CD orchestration tools such as Bamboo, Chef, Circle CI, GitLab, Jenkins, Maven, etc. is preferred
Experience with highly scalable REST web services is preferred
Experience with Java, Python, or Node.js is preferred
Experience with HTTP and TCP/IP is preferred
Experience in a life sciences/healthcare organization is preferred
Experience with Wireless Edge Access Protocols (WAN, LAN, PAN, Mesh) such as LoRA, Wifi, RFID, Bluetooth, zwave or others is preferred Experience leading V&V for Class I, II, or III medical devices or related life sciences based digital product is preferred.
Experience with IoT protocols such as MQTT and AMQP is preferred
Experience with Cucumber and HP ALM is preferred
This position can sit in Mountain View, CA; Cincinnati, OH; Somerville, NJ; or New Brunswick, NJ and may require up to 20% domestic and international travel.
