As IT Applications Director, you will lead Agile delivery teams creating innovative solutions for the Financial Services and Mortgage spaces. Collaboration and partnership with other technical teams as well as business groups will require a strong ability to influence and guide through mentorship and servant leadership to be successful. Day to day, coding is not required, but the ability to roll up your sleeves and dig in to lead the teams and be part of the solution necessitates a deep familiarity with modern standards as related to software coding, database design, solution architecture. Leveraging Cloud native technologies to accelerate and reduce overhead are part of our direction and will require flexible thinking and the desire to push the envelope.
About the Job
Lead and direct overall technical design, development, modification, and implementation of computer applications using existing and emerging technology platforms.
Analyze internal user needs and desired results and develop software solutions with responsibility for the delivery of software applications.
Coordinate the work of project teams along multiple workstreams.
Present complex IT concepts and project metrics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Identify opportunities for improvement
Work with Product Owners to understand the desired capability, to define and prioritize work, determine deliverables, and manage workloads.
Lead technical discussions and must be able to work and influence cross functional teams.
Develop technology roadmaps and forward-looking strategy based on market trends, emerging players, and corporate strategic objectives.
Drive engineering design and buy vs. build decisions.
Collaborate with performing teams to deliver new capabilities and/or remediate issues.
Enforce company policies in areas of development methodology, architecture, security, change and configuration management, compliance, and monitoring/support.
Directly manage individual contributors, provide performance feedback and career coaching, participate in talent and succession planning.
Recruit top talent and ensure team members are sharpening their skills and growing their careers.
At least 10 years of experience in software development including design, coding, testing, and support.
At least 5 years of people management experience.
At least 2 years of Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure experience.
At least 3 years of experience with Agile, Kanban, or Scrum methodologies.
Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience
Experience leading on-shore/off-shore teams
5+ years with multiplatform dependent technology solutions
5+ years experience in API development, DevOps and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
2+ years of experience in database technology design (NoSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
