BAE Systems Inc. has an opportunity for an experienced IT audit and compliance professional in either our Charlotte NC or Reston VA facility.


As a member of this second line of defense team within Enterprise Shared Services (ESS), you will have the opportunity to facilitate audit activities across ESS as well as support management in their risk remediation efforts and monitor the condition of the control environment. Your responsibilities would include:


Audit Relations Liaison Role:

Developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal, external and regulatory audit personnel

Leading the IT organization in preparing overview decks and process walkthrough materials for the audit

Coordinating IT audit requests for information to ensure complete, accurate and timely fulfillment

Ensuring communications with auditors are accurate, clear and concise

Reviewing draft audit reports for accuracy and completeness as well as summarizing, analyzing and communicating results to IT executive management


Deficiency Remediation Support Role:

Assisting IT management in responding to audit recommendations to ensure the nature, timing and extent of action plans adequately mitigate identified risks

Monitoring and reporting implementation status of audit recommendations to ensure timely resolution

Conducting validation procedures to ensure remediation efforts are both effective and sustainable

Analyzing IT audit recommendations to identify emerging trends and potential system-wide concerns


Control Assurance Role:

Facilitating annual compliance requirements as defined by Company’s Operational and Financial Control Frameworks

Participating in major IT initiatives to proactively advise and assist management in evaluating governance, risk and control impact

Reviewing IT processes and controls for compliance and effectiveness


Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience


Required Skills and Education


To be successful in this role, your background should include:

Bachelor degree with 6+ years’ experience in a similar IT audit, risk or compliance role

Relevant professional certification (e.g. CISA, CISSP, etc.)

Well rounded IT audit experience (external IT audit experience a plus)

Strong process analysis, business acumen and problem solving skills

Experience driving continuous improvement and delivering innovative governance, risk and compliance solutions

Experience communicating complex information to all levels and functions within the organization

Experience motivating others through collaboration and cooperation

Exceptional skills in developing trusted, effective working relationships


Preferred Skills and Education

Desired


Certified professional designation is desired (e.g. CIA, CPA, CISA, CRISC, CISSP, etc.)

Experience with the aerospace and defense industry regulatory landscape (i.e., FAR, CAS, DFARS, etc.) or other highly regulated industry
