Trinity Industries is seeking a Director - Systems Operations in our Dallas, TX corporate headquarters*.This role will be responsible for delivering our DevOps, Proactive Applications Monitoring, and Systems Incident Management enterprise services including conceptualization, planning, evaluation, implementation, rollout, and support of associated platforms and technologies. 

What you’ll do:

• Provide technical leadership, best practices, and implementation experience to drive a newly formed enterprise function

• Plan, assign and direct the activities of professional and technical personnel involved in the support of DevOps, Proactive Application Monitoring, and Systems Incident Management

• Oversee and manage Software IT Asset Management system and Software lifecycle management

• Create and drive delivery of a DevOps roadmap that supports the enterprises’ diverse application and systems portfolio

• Design and implement a modern DevOps platform that enables efficient and dependable delivery of systems and applications

• Oversee implementation of App Dynamics proactive monitoring platform and establish best practices for Systems Incident Management that ensure alignment to established Service Level Agreements

• Play a strategic role in identifying technology direction that would enable the business to more effectively achieve business goals within and across assigned application portfolio(s)  

• Participate in IT management duties such as budget and financial activities; process standards, improvement, and monitoring; program and project management; and strategic planning

• Trains staff and promotes knowledge sharing and cross functional collaboration

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science required

• Minimum of 2 years of executive level experience (Director), Systems Operations executive experience 

• Minimum of 8 years of Software Operations experience including managing operations teams, ideal candidate should have experience building high performing teams

• Prior experience interacting directly with business stakeholders required

• Prior hands on experience implementing, supporting, and continuously improving a DevOps platform required

• Prior experience managing and supporting a Systems Incident Management and Proactive Application Monitoring capability required

• Strong understanding of applications architecture processes, design patterns, and standards preferred

• Strong understanding of, and experience, in systems integration methods preferred

• Excellent problem solving, analytical and interpersonal communication skills are a must

• Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability

• Disciplined organization and planning skills

• Thrive on technical challenges and take pride in finding elegant, sustainable solutions; constantly thinking of ways to improve our productivity, reliability, and quality
