Parsons is seeking a Laboratory Manager to provide support to the Naval Medical Research Unit San Antonio (NAMRU-SA) and its collaborating institutions in the conduct of the following research area: Expeditionary and Trauma Medicine in consonance with the mission of the Combat Casualty Care and Operational Medicine Department and Craniofacial Health and Restorative Medicine.
Provides research related recommendations and support to Government PIs.
Assists Government personnel with day-to-day laboratory operations pertaining to research related sample analyses and equipment maintenance; services shall not include inherently Governmental functions.
Trains non-Government technicians to use equipment and properly maintains training files.
Ensures all Government equipment is properly maintained and calibrated in accordance with established protocols and research SOPs.
Provides recommended changes to protocols and SOPs for Government approval.
Provides additional functions incidental to research activities and laboratory.
Coordinates animal research work activities between contract personnel.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with five years of experience, or Master’s degree with one year of experience.
Knowledge of biomedical research pertaining to the military highly preferred.
