About the Job

Redesign is looking for a Legal Chief of Staff. Working closely with our Legal team, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our healthcare innovation platform and positioning Redesign Health to scale. You will be in charge of improving and maintaining the Legal team's internal processes, systems, and technology tools. You will support the diligence, operations, and legal activities required for the end-to-end launch of a new business. You will be the go-to individual for all legal information and processes. Additionally, you will work on thinking strategically about how to develop products and services to scale and drive value across the RH platform. 

Key components of this role will include process coordination and administration, allocating resources, managing key partner and vendor relationships including invoice management, and leading cross-functional initiatives that accelerate and enable Redesign’s growth. The ideal candidate is extremely organized, deeply analytical, and is a structured thinker and strong communicator. This position will report to the General Counsel in our NYC headquarters.


Legal Operations Management

• Design, develop, and implement or improve systems and processes to increase Legal team efficiency, support scalability, ensure quality and assist with compliance

• Simplify and automate legal processes and workflows

• Identify, track, and report on key operational metrics for the Legal team to measure success and drive improvements

• Manage the intake queue for the legal team and provide visibility to General Counsel on legal resource allocation

• Assist with the intake, review, tracking and organization of a wide variety of legal contracts and agreements

• Develop and maintain form libraries and templates

• Serve as the primary resource for contract and document management systems

Shared Services and Operating Model

• Support the implementation of our shared services model, partnering with portfolio company leadership to understand supply and demand for Legal resources 

• Identify opportunities to improve processes, share best practices, and improve efficiency with the Legal team’s organizational structure, systems, technologies and controls

• Identify areas of need across our operating companies and develop relationships with vendors to secure discounted pricing based on centralized procurement and economies of scale

• Evolve business insights into project management of key initiatives to help increase efficiency and quality across our shared services model

• Partner with functional leadership at Redesign to more clearly define and articulate our offerings and subsequently helping identify new service lines that drive value to operating companies

Redesign Platform and Vendor Management

• Own operational performance analysis, reporting out on key business metrics and leading initiatives to improve Redesign’s platform 

• Own Legal’s role in annual strategic planning efforts across all functional teams develop methods to track and ensure accountability against Legal’s goals against strategic plans

• Scale operational capacity (real estate strategy, office and vendor management, outsourcing decisions, etc.)

Project Management of Key Business Initiatives

• Partner with our Technical Operations Lead to drive the implementation, adoption, and management of new enterprise technologies as well as existing investments such as document, project and contract management solutions, etc.

• Support our teams in collaborating and communicating effectively

• Project manage cross-portfolio community building and resource-sharing initiatives to further collaboration across the Redesign family

Relevant Experience:


• 5-7 years of experience at a law firm, top-tier management consulting firm, investment bank, or in a legal operations/strategy role at a high-growth company. Legal team experience is strongly preferred. 

• 1+ year working in a Legal Operations, strategy or operational role inside a company that was growing quickly.

• Undergraduate or postgraduate business education is preferred.


• Demonstrated experience using qualitative and quantitative inputs to drive decision-making relating to legal operations in a growing organization

• Proven experience working with and leading large cross-functional initiatives

• Provide project documentation and create self-help tools: dashboards, tool kits, legal training, Q&A, process flows, etc.
