This position will lead forecasting and analytics, including some primary and secondary market research responsibilities for the Ethicon Franchise within the Global Business Insights (GBI) Center of Excellence team.
The Manager role will work with the Business Unit teams to analyze market and share performance drivers. This role requires a high degree of business understanding and must be able to proactively recommend tools and techniques to support customer and marketplace understanding needs across the business. This role will also have responsibility for managing and executing strategic and tactical marketplace insight projects and activities.
Deliver Market & Share analytics and develop strategic & tactical forecasting, which are informed by primary & secondary research, competitive intelligence and marketplace understanding
Develop new product forecasts based on customer and market insights
Manage, create, influence and execute high-impact tactical and strategic marketplace understanding and learning plans
Influence multiple business partners to ensure a high-level of team involvement in key business discussions
Provide foundational learning to ensure new products and programs are grounded in marketplace insights
A Bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA or MS Degree is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in market research, forecasting, strategic insights, business analytics, strategic forecasting, or a related field is required.
Ability to understand, translate and integrate marketplace and secondary data tools into actionable insights to drive decision-making is required
Successful record of managing in a matrix environment where teamwork and influence is required
Expert knowledge of and experience with Microsoft EXCEL is required
Proficiency in Microsoft WORD and PowerPoint is required
Knowledge of primary market research and competitive intelligence data is preferred
Working experience with secondary market research tools (e.g. IMS, HPIS, Provider databases) and techniques is preferred
Experience in the medical device, hospital specialty, or healthcare field is preferred
Experience with advanced analytical tools (SPSS, SAS or Tableau) is preferred
Up to 25% travel may be required, including international
