We are currently seeking an experienced Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis reporting into the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. The individual will be responsible for providing financial analytical support to all of the New York Post product lines and major operating departments. The ideal candidate will develop actionable insights to help the company understand key business drivers, highlight risks and opportunities, and influence strategic decision making that will drive meaningful improvements.


  • Support all FP&A functions (annual budgets, long range planning, and monthly/quarterly forecasts), including creating and maintaining various financial models

  • Support the Print and Online product lines and major operating departments with financial analysis, and develop proforma financials to aid in making business decisions

  • Develop and maintain product line P&Ls

  • Conduct GL account variance analysis for direct cost during month close

  • Support Print and Online circulation revenues

  • Develop key metric reporting that is distributed to the product and department managers by utilizing various business systems

  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance

  • Create and manage product P/L statements and other ad-hoc reporting to analyze results and explain the story behind the numbers

  • Work closely with Accounting during month end close to prepare entries and understand variances between actuals and estimates/budget

  • Serve as liaison between Accounts Payables and Department heads to ensure invoices are processed and provide payment updates as needed

  • Review and analyze major purchase agreements

  • Continuously look for ways to improve processes and reporting

  • Handle ad hoc projects as needed


  • 5 to 8 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Experience in financial modeling

  • Advanced excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables)

  • Work experience in online advertising/digital industry (a plus)

  • Experience with subscription business model (preferred, but not required)

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized

  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven, and self-motivated
