The Managing Director, Global Content Operations is responsible for enabling human expertise to drive deliverables resulting in delivery of premium, high quality products and solutions to Thomson Reuters customers. This person will manage relationships with sources, the acquisition & processing of content, engineering and maintaining content workflows, executing enhancements & efficiency initiatives, and publishing content in electronic & print formats.


The Global Content Operations (GCO) organization is responsible for the acquisition, management, and delivery of content products and solutions in support of customers in the Legal Professionals, Corporates and Tax Professionals markets. The GCO key areas of accountability include: Source acquisition and management, Customer Delivery, Judicial, Commentary, Specialty, and Laws, Rules & Regulations. GCO has 1,500 global employees, primarily located in Hyderabad, India; Manila, Philippines; Minneapolis, MN USA; London, UK; and Toronto & Quebec, Canada.


The Global Operations Strategy (GOS) organization is responsible for the co-creation, development, tracking and execution of the strategies that drive for efficient ways of operation within Content Operations. The Global Content Program, which is the transformation program bringing together content Technology, Editorial, & GCO, is also being led by GOS. The GOS key areas of accountability include establishing expected & measuring actual results, identifying & executing improvement plans, planning & managing transformation activities, and standardizing & consolidating processes & tools. The GOS organization has 85 employees primarily located in Minneapolis, MN USA; Hyderabad, India; and Manila, Philippines.


Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities


Strategy & Leadership


Understand the business outcomes required and define the change to deliver on those business outcomes

With a blend of innovation & execution focus, establish and drive the go-forward Global Content Operations transformation, roadmap, and investment agenda

Lead strategic workforce planning to optimize all resourcing levels & options, including global footprint, full-time talent, managed service engagements, and contractors

Create an immediate execution plan that is data and OKR driven with measurable results

Apply the knowledge of customer needs, desires & objectives to organizational processes, decisions & behaviors

Look across the business to look for opportunities to create cross function synergies

Identify initiatives and influence the business to invest in technology change

Drive innovation by monitoring the external environment and identifying opportunities that may benefit the business

Play a leadership role in Thomson Reuters’ acceleration journey to bolster our core franchises  


Internal Partnership, Collaboration & Relationship Management


Partner, influence and develop deep trusted relationships within the core businesses and executives, working with the matrix structure

Create trust & credibility with key stakeholders across Editorial, Technology & Product

Be the first point of call and primary interface with the business on all things Content related

Develop an organizational design that fosters collaboration and the courage to take informed risk

Be an advocate to the business for customer centric driven initiatives

Consult and influence the business’ investment in Global Content Operations ’call to change’ in order to deliver on strategic outcomes


Delivery


With measurable results, unify, develop and enhance Thomson Reuters’ Global Content Operations service offerings and customer experience

Identify, capture and execute on identifying opportunities where we can leverage our scale, reducing our number of tools, eliminating one-offs, and revising processes to be more efficient - ensuring we have the right tools, resources and technology to do the job right

Ensure ‘voice of the customer’ is driving strategy and delivery through close engagement with customer excellence and sales teams

Elicit, document and analyze customer requirements to further support our Product portfolio

A proven, well rounded commercial leader who has served in global organizations of scale, that has grown through acquisition versus purely organically

Deep understanding of how emerging technologies can be optimally integrated complex environments

Evidence of constructing Operations & Content solutions within a complex, larger scale environment, specifically to drive significant business advantage

A visionary change agent, driving continuous improvement and excellence. Track record of developing and delivering a strategy & vision that has significantly impacted the customer experience across the enterprise.

Strong cadence and delivery on Operations metrics - transparency, timeliness, efficiency in resource planning & execution

Proven experience leading an organization through a period of major cultural & business transformation

Strong awareness of trends in business strategies for Operations, Content & Strategy

Strong analytical skills with the ability to innovate and make strategic decisions

Strong people management skills with a proven ability to lead a team and deliver results
