The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. This position recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Applicants must have the ability to continually improve the quality, manufacturability, and value of current products utilizing various lean tools, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new and existing product lines.


Job Requirements:



  • Create and maintain standard work instructions and quality plans.

  • Investigate and resolve equipment and process problems.

  • Design and/or source and cost justify various tools, machinery, and equipment, including evaluating and justifying capital expenditures.

  • Utilize various tools to determine root cause of failures, recommend and implement improvements.

  • Analyze existing production equipment and performance to provide recommendations for enhanced safety, quality, customer service, capacity, and efficiency.

  • Improves manufacturing processes and methods to improve safety, quality, delivery, and to reduce cost.

  • Promote, implement, and oversee production cost reduction ideas using lean methodologies focused on process improvement. Lead process related projects from inception to implementation and sustainment.

  • Prepares and presents plans for improvements and coordinates and administers employee training.

  • Supports operations team in improving production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control, and training systems.

  • Support implementation and maintenance of 5S facility wide.

  • Support establishment of time standards and routings via time studies and SOPs.

  • Participate in rapid improvement events.

  • Represent manufacturing on cross functional teams.

  • Perform benchmarking studies as required.

  • Implement set up reduction techniques.

Job Qualifications (Required):



  • BA/BS Degree in applicable field

  • 0+ years experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated exposure to and application of a variety of lean tools (value stream mapping, 5S, flow, pull systems, etc.)

  • Experience determining root causes of machining or assembly issues

  • Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite


Job Qualifications (Preferred):



  • Knowledgeable in statistical anlaysis of production activities

  • Proven project management experience

  • Experience with ERP/MRP system

  • Experience within an ISO certified environment

  • CAD/Pro-E/Solidworks experience
